A Message From Nomura
Sorry for the delay, guys. I’m having some computer troubles and have to use a different one for the time being.
Tetsuya Nomura has posted a message on the Kingdom Hearts Official Blog.
KHInsider has graciously provided a translation.
Creator Message - Tetsuya Nomura
A blog? How modern. Or, no… I guess it’s a little late for that. Nevermind. I’m the director Nomura.
The staff asked us to write our first entry, but I was just too busy. But it was around TGS that Yasue was going to update, so I put a stop to it. I’m very sorry.
Between then and now we’ve already announced the release date. Now all we have to do is finish it. But we still have tons of things to do, and we’re in the middle of running around trying to get everything finished. Right now on my desktop I have 5 files containing work for Birth by Sleep, 4 for Coded, and 7 for other titles.
They’re listed in order of precedence, and now as I’m writing this the time for these files has finally come.
Of course there are not only written documents, but pictures I have been needing to draw have been waiting for me to get around to it. Right now the most important being the package art for Birth by Sleep.
Today I have to go to edit the Staff Roll. Since there are three main characters in Birth by Sleep, we also have different Staff Rolls for each one. We already have experience making two for Chain of Memories, but this time it’s a little bit different and we have a little bit of a trick with each, so it’s quite difficult.
In the Kingdom Hearts series when we put the music into the Staff Roll, we aren’t just lining up the music second by second, but frame by frame. So we’re working hard to find a good way to time it.
We also still have the Opening Movie, the Secret Movie, the CM and the PV to edit. But that will be on a later day. Next week we will be working on the CM for FFXIII.
So we’re working quite hard now, and I have to get going. I have to get to the editing studio. When I have another opportunity I will write again soon. Thank you.
Director
Tetsuya Nomura

You guys should make Kingdom Hearts (Online) mmorpg. I’ll be EPIC to fight heartless/nobodies and bosses with other players.. and create ur own character. and chat! u will get alot of people playing, trust me. =)

cool stuff. this definitely brightens my day up especially since it hasn’t been going too well lately, I also like that idea Michael, but should be careful how they make the game like that, otherwise there could be the odd company with ‘blah blah blah’ copyright issues (i.e. Blizzard the most notorious of these mmorpg game companies)

So what exactly was he saying? Did he say that their working on Kh3 but they did or didn’t give it a release date yet???? Im sooooo confused lol anyone please explain it to me! thank you =]

No mention of Kingdom Hearts 3 yet, Kimberly. What he was trying to convey is that he’s currently focused on the finishing touches for Birth By Sleep, and then will work on Coded and other titles (I have no idea if he is referring to other Kingdom Hearts games for the future, or simply other games, such as Final Fantasy XIII).

honestly, i dont think they should make KH an mmorpg because it would take up memory of the game to put that in there causing less levels and less cutscenes with voice acting. and why would you want to customize your characters looks anyways the whole point of the game is to play as the character tetsuya nomura sets for us. There really is no need for online play, if they made it online the game would be too easy all it would really do is cause lag and take up memory.

good point KH Fan, plus I’d rather not have this series get watered down and milked like a precious cow’s utter and become a money grab for all like Warcraft has become, yeah it is pretty fun, but its just lost its touch over the years though I found. That’s why I pray that KH will never reach a fate like that.

I think what he is trying to say is he is very busy and that he may not meet deadlines

first off that secret ending has been confirmed as a scene from kh bbs that is NEAR the end of the game, but not the end of the game itself. Secondly, there is no evidence that Aqua has died either. I know I know that Aqua’s armor is in the Chamber of Repose… but so what? Does that prove that she’s dead? No, not by a mile. For all we know, she could have abandoned her title as ‘keyblade master’ and gone into hiding like I have been reiterating for the longest time. A big reason that I also hint at this is because I’m thinking like TN for a moment.
If I were to make a sequel involving KH BBS, 358/2 days, and coded I would take the main components of each game and put them together like a jigsaw puzzle: Xehanort and his memories (mixed with Terra, Aqua and Ventus in some form because of Aqua’s papou fruit charms ‘bringing them back together some day’!!), Roxas in some form, and the mysteries of KH coded as well.
In the same way I question whether Terra could be Xehanort for many reasons. While he does have the body build for it, hair, attitude even, etc. It has been said that Xehanort appeared after a long fight of keyblades occurred and then those ‘masters’ disappeared aka the “Keyblade Wars”.
TGS 2009 trailer’s clearly stated from Master Xehanort’s words that here lies the ruins of many keyblades and their masters from the “Keyblade Wars”!!!!! So then that means that Xehanort would have had to have been discovered by Ansem the Wise much earlier than the timeline of KH BBS!!!! Call me up on this people, but let’s put two and two together.
It makes sense now, because in the KH 2 Secret Ansem Reports Ansem keeps reminiscing about his ‘time’ spent with Xehanort and his apprentices which was hinted at being years and years instead of just one. It really is starting to click to me it’s not even funny.
In other words, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it here first from master x himself. Not everything is as it seems, never judge a book by its cover, etc.

Great so he wasn’t talking about the third one…ugh im sooooo tired of waiting. =’[
I hope Nomura makes KH3 if not theres going to be many disapointed fans including me…
Is there any news once so ever if hes going to make a 3rd one? An when it will be comming out?
on 01 Nov 2009 at 3:09 pm 15. vexas
how are you cunfused? did he say kh3 anywhere in that update no and its not even being worked on yet, aand wont be out for at lest 3 years from now or more.
on 01 Nov 2009 at 3:10 pm 16. Sonicspeed
That’s very interesting theory master x. It could make for a very good storyline if it’s true too. Considering other apprentices of Ansem the Wise have been shown in BBS but not Xehanort it might be true. Terra has also been rumored to be the enigmatic soldier or whatever he’s called that was some secret boss in one of the Final Mixes, however, and unless Terra has a Heartless, Nobody, and body existing at the same time (like Sora, on a side note where is Sora’s Heartless?) then some theory is wrong. Also what about Vanitas? He also appears, very mysteriously it seems at the moment whereas Terra, Aqua, and Ven seem to have appear more normally (used lightly for Ven because something seems to happen to him since he’s different), after the Keyblade Wars. Just throwing some ideas out there :).
Of course Aqua can’t be dead cause BBS is supposed to be the most important game leading up to the next KH game directly in the series involving Sora. Knowing Tetsuya Nomura he won’t leave out main characters from BBS so Terra will definitely be there (Xehanort or not) and so will Aqua and possibly Ven depending on what he is and what happens to him in BBS.

They should put more playable characters in KH3 than Sora, what about Kairi, she should still have that flower keyblade Riku gave her towards the end, and bring in more FF Characters, tons more.
on 01 Nov 2009 at 8:35 pm 18. master x
very true, but that moment Sora had fighting the enigmatic soldier was proven to be non-canon though and just a bonus in Kh 2 final mix though, which is where ppl got their odd theories right or wrong in many senses. However I do still agree as well that Vanitas ‘cannot’ be written off as something insignificant like what the KHinsider community has been convinced, because what they are looking at is physical evidence and nothing more. Vanitas I believe plays a very large part in this story and maybe much bigger than Terra or MX combined believe it or not.
The fact in the TGS 2009 trailer he wields his keyblade like Riku with his Soul Eater is throwing our KH logic out the window all together and also since Aqua gave Terra and Ven papou charms in the game means we will of course see them in the future (likewise with kairi when she and Sora handed each other papou fruit in KH 1). Xehanort I personally believe is Master Xehanort one in the same now and that possibly he could have either: reverted back to his youth in the game at the expense of wielding the keyblade, but not his ’supernatural powers’ or perhaps Vanitas may in fact have combined his powers with MX himself becoming the Xehanort we all know today.

i understand what tetsuya nomura is saying but why are they calling it birth by sleep is confusing cecause isnt that not roxas being born i guess it has to do with ven looking like roxas and thats some good thery off master x
on 01 Nov 2009 at 10:12 pm 20. master x
thank you my good man. The reason why it is called Birth by Sleep btw will be revealed in the game lik Kh 358/2 days with its name.
on 01 Nov 2009 at 10:21 pm 21. Kimberly
Well i can tell you how im confused Vexas, cuz lets see here.. who ever posted his message on here put it under NOT ONLY a message from Nomura but put it under also KH3 on the side bar, Yeah so excuse me for being confused about it.
on 01 Nov 2009 at 10:50 pm 22. Zaryn
wow master x, i never really thought of that. good point. and i never said that would be the final battle, i did mean towards the end of the game. but Ven gets frozen near the end of battle so i wonder how they’ll revive him? also, verrryy good point about Aqua. that’s a great possibility. another theory of mine is that maybe in some way Terra is apart of Xemnas(Xehanort’s nobody), that would explain why he referred to Aqua’s armor as “friend” in the Room of Repose. it makes sense because obviously Ven is apart of Roxas(Sora’s nobody), which would explain the striking resemblance. hopefully they go over this in BBS or KHIII. and yeah, Sonicspeed, where is Sora’s heartless??
on 02 Nov 2009 at 12:27 am 23. Sonicspeed
I don’t know much about the Final Mixes so I was just throwing that out there. I also didn’t think about the meaning of the name Birth by Sleep. Someone is obviously disappearing for someone to be born (duh). The birth could very possibly be Xehanort that we all know and love/hate. The sleeper could be anyone by the looks of it right now lol.
