Birth By Sleep JP Release Date ~ BBS TGS 09 Trailer
According to FF-Reunion, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep will be released January 9th, 2010 in Japan and will cost 6,090 Yen (approximately $60 US, 40 GBP).

…I am seriously speechless.
I almost had a heart attack when Even, Dilan and Aeleus appeared! They all look so cool!
But my biggest interest is this ‘Land of Departure’. I wonder if it is playable.
Well, I have a new theory for any possible KH3. If the new game involves Sora, I think he is going to travel to the Land of Departure, or whatever that castle was. Apparently a test for the keyblade-weilders is mentioned. Maybe Sora has to take that test?

@Axel: the guy in the dark mask is Vanitas, Master Xehanhort’s apprentice. That’s probably all we’ll find out about him until BBS comes out too lol.
@Vexas: I doubt it will be March considering 358/2 was released May 30 in Japan and Sept. 29 in U.S.
@nobody13: That could be what happens in KH3. I’m sure it will at least involve many of the characters in BBS along with its storyline.

The localisation for 358/2 Days was pretty swift, so we hopefully won’t have to wait too long for an English release of Birth By Sleep. May or June if they’re really on the ball!
Not too long now - Can’t wait! Then we can finally get down to Kingdom Hearts 3. Itchin’ to play as Sora again. ;_;

i miss the first two games.
they were simple , had a great storyline, amazing game play, excellent voice acting, the list goes on.
now… i don’t know what to think.
i’m indifferent to KH319/2days and KHCOM being in DS
(even though in my opinion they should have stayed on PS2) but i think that the games have really gone all over the place.
the story has become less easy to follow, the controls are becoming more complicated (Especially KHCOM) and the voice acted has gone form emotional to scripted!
i just hate the fact that their trying to milk the series for money then to really produce game that match up to the originals.

@sam simion: The storyline is still pretty good. CoM was released on PS2 with more to it as well (still crappy controls though). The storyline is pretty good though because it fills that gap in between KH and KH2. I guess 358/2 is supposed to fill that gap for Roxas but I have to admit (never having played the game) that they could have done without it though since I doubt much, if any, of it will come up in a following game (but I didn’t play CoM until after KH2 and was fine there too). BBS, however, seems to have more of an anchor to the regular storyline with Sora and KH3 most likely so that’s something to look forward too…even though it would be preferable to have it on PS2.

Even though I have loved every KH game, the first one always brings me back. Something about listening to the Traverse Town music just…sort of somes up what the game is about for me. And I loved the Keyhole aspect that was missing in the other games.
Not to mention the fact that KH1 was the best Sora voice acting so far. KH2 Sora was far too awkward, especially in the beginning of the game.
The only problem I have with BBS at the moment is that it is on the PSP.

didn’t they say the english tranlating of KH 2 was pretty choppy and didn’t nearly match-up what it was supposed to be in the Japanese version?
And no sam-simon the quality of the KH series has never been better than it is now. KH 1 and KH 2 have the same formula of gameplay, acting, etc. etc.
Here’s the basic formula: Problem occurs in the worlds, Sora fights it, Sora makes new friends, Sora and co. laugh/tease each other about something near the end of each completed world, main threat is confronted, we beat that threat and end credits soon appear after a long basic ‘love conquers all’, ‘friends forever’, etc. etc. speech from the main characters.
Nothing and I repeat nothing has changed!!!!! If anything KH BBS will literally shake the foundations of storyline all together with these plot twists ppl, that I guarantee you. There are a few animes and movies I will remember along with game series that will be in my memories even when I die: KH BBS will be one of those along with 20 other animes/movies/games/tv shows that are on that list as well.

… I still think Kingdom Hearts has a great storyline. KH 358/2 Days was good considering it only about 17 Cutscenes altogether. They even got a new Namine-voice Actor. The wierd part is that in KH 358/2 Days Xion the 14 member later in the game looked like ven for a scene and Xigbar new him.

Honestly, all of the games in the KH series so far have been essential to the storyline. People may argue about the importance of CoM, but that game itroduced you to the Organization members, Namine, and the set-up for KHII. It was a really good game as well. Even if you didn’t enjoy the battle system (I actually did), the cutscenes and story were still amazing.
As for KH 358/2 Days, it told us why Roxas eventually left the organization, the premise behind the famous Roxas Vs. Riku scene, and why it took so long for Sora to wake up. There was an impressive amount of cutscenes (28, including the opening) for a DS game that were astoundingly high quality. It completely filled in the gap between KH and KHII, and was sincerely filled with emotion, just like the other games.
Even KH Coded will be important to the storyline in some way, seeing as it’s the only game set after KHII. Since I believe this one is least likely to come to NA, everybody should read up on it to know what’s going on.
Okay, I kind of ranted there… sorry. ^^’

it’s been said before dude, this is LONG LONG LONG before Sora even left DI, let alone before Riku had and lost ‘his’ keyblade due to the overwhelming darkness that pursued in his heart. It connects to Sora and friends, but not directly. This would be what is called a prologue.
KH had the body of the main story with the POHs, and the conclusion to it give or take through to the end of KH 2. KH BBS would be the prologue to the story in this case. KH Coded I have viewed to be more or less like a mini-epilogue after the main story just in an odd way, and that the next KH game will be an entirely different story all together.

now to correct you guys, im not dissing the story line.
it is great im not denying it
im saying that is gettng complicated as in they just seem to be craming as much plot in as they can in short ammout of time.
case in point: the ammount of story that was given out in KH1, KH2 and KHCOM was fairly streight forward, but when we started learning about what KH358/2 and KHBBS is is going introduce into the story it just seems to get a little Overwhelming.

that’s what this mystery kh game is for sam simion. along with Coded, Kh 358/2 days and Kh BBS will be incorporated into both as well and will be given a more broader and clearer explanation to this story in an entirely different theme. IE KH 1 to two was all about the threat of darkness and reuniting long lost friends. I believe repitition of KH BBS will happen in some form or another, just not involving the theme of the Door to Darkness, but perhaps something different involving a complete form of Xehanort.
