Disney approach Square about KHIII!
KingdomHearts3.net has been kindly informed by reader Phillip Tucker that IGN have released an article in response to Dengeki PlayStation’s recent interview with Tetsuya Nomura.
“We’ve already been approached by the Disney side saying that they want us to make it,” said the busy producer regarding the next installment in the series. “What I can say at this time is ‘We have various ideas, but we’re not at the point where we can say that.’ Looking at the development schedule, after KHII FM+, the Kingdom Hearts team has Final Fantasy Versus XIII awaiting, so it’s physically impossible at the present. I feel that it’s not the right time to talk about the future of Kingdom Hearts.”
Clearly this is not confirmation that there will be a Kingdom Hearts III, but this is probably as good as we’re going to get for a while. All the FINAL FANTASY games are coming out, so they will not wish to overly congest their market.

ahhhh! no please make kh3 soon!!! i really want to know what happened in the letter and what Riku,Sora, and Kairi are going to do for the King!!! i’m freaking out over this!!! please dont let it be more than 2 years for the next kh to come out please!!!

My girl eh? Didn’t know I had one lol. I’m pretty positive there will be a KH3, but it’ll be many years from now. We’ll get more info as to what it’s about in the KHII: Final Mix Secret Ending. If there turns out not to be one, that probably means there won’t be a KH3.
Anywhoo, quotes from the interview:
“Who are the 3 armoured people?”
“Those 3 are completely new people who haven’t shown up at all. In fact, I’ve already thought of their names. Back when I was making that movie, I only had their settings but now I’ve even drawn their faces to give myself a clearer image of them.”
“The king, Sora and Riku’s keyblades were there, too.”
“It’s to show that those three armoured people aren’t them but that doesn’t mean they don’t have connections. The words “Keyblade War” that showed up in the middle were to implicate that there were fights between Keyblades. Most of the puzzles in the first KH have been solved in KHII but there are many things about the Keyblade that haven’t been revealed yet. A line from the previous game’s Ansem Report #8 appeared in the movie but that is to say “It means this but it’s not explained yet.””
“Did that scene happen in the future or in the past?”
“I would at least say it’s an episode in the past, but…. Hmm, how should I say this? It’s in the past but you can also think it’s in the future, something like that.”
Those would be the three most important quotes from the interview regarding the movie. Also:
“You can guess what’s in the letter by looking at those three’s facial expressions: Sora looking at it blankly, Riku smirking and Kairi looking slightly worried. If it was just a “Hello, it’s been awhile”, they would be smiling instead so at least it’s hinted it is not that kind of simple letter.”

I am a enormouse kingdom hearts fan…and im only 13…if kingdom hearts is coming out in 2-3 years, I will not be able to buy them because my parents said I will be to “old” to play video games. So thats a problem…you will be losing more buyers. I love kingdom hearts alot…sometime…since I bought a big wooden sowerd… me and my friends would play kingdome of hearts in my back yard and in th woods, I would be Sora and my friends would be Donald and Goofy…and the heartless would be big work trucks or tree’s. When I am at home…my 5 year old sister would ask me if she can play kingdom hearts because she loves the disney character’s. Kingdome hearts is just so magical and heart-warming. First off, of course I’m not the Riku from the game lol. There will most likely be a KH3 but not KH4. It’s been announced that due to development on Final Fantasy XIII, KH3 will be released sometime within 2008-9. The interview revealed that we have to work out for ourselves what the expressions at the letter mean:
“I was troubled for a very long time on whether I should show the letter’s contents or not, and in the end I decided to let people speculate it themselves. You can guess what’s in the letter by looking at those three’s facial expressions: Sora looking at it blankly, Riku smirking and Kairi looking slightly worried. If it was just a “Hello, it’s been awhile”, they would be smiling instead so at least it’s hinted it is not that kind of simple letter.”
As for the Keychains, there’s been talk of Keyblades without Keychains possibly being fakes, but many people disagree.

Again, it’s been confirmed from the interview that the armoured soldiers are new characters we have never seen before:
“Who are the 3 armoured people?”
“Those 3 are completely new people who haven’t shown up at all. In fact, I’ve already thought of their names. Back when I was making that movie, I only had their settings but now I’ve even drawn their faces to give myself a clearer image of them.”
And Toy Story won’t be included as won’t any other Pixar Films.

Amber, they’re doing a remake of FFVII for PS3 I believe. I’ve heard that they’re making a Kingdom Hearts Movie, but that’s all I’ve heard, no clue whether they actually are or not. If they are it’s highly likely that KH3 will come out even later, unless the movie comes out afterwards of course.

What I can assume from the site is that this is part of the secret ending from Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix. Check it out.

It’s been confirmed in the interview that the armoured characters are brand new characters, but I agree with whoever mentioned previously that it does look like an older Sora. The only explanations I can think of is that the character is either related to Sora or some third element created when Heartless and Nobodies are (although I can’t imagine what that could possibly be). Otherwise I’m wrong and it’s one of the Chasers completely unrelated to anyone.

Kingdom Hearts will never have the same structure of turn-based structure like Final Fantasy, but there could be up to 5 playable characters instead of only 3 if they wanted.

As far as I know, KHII: FM+ will be released in Japan in January or February with CoM being released in February or March. I have no clue if and/or when they’ll be released in America or Europe. But as they’re making KHII: FM+ with the English voices with Japanese subtitles, I’m guessing it’ll at least go to America (which sucks for me stuck in England).

New hereee. Im not as hardcore of fans as you guys, but i do look up alot of stuff for releases and any info i can get on the game. I guess im pretty into it, these games are probably the only ones i actually play and am pretty good at…besides the pokemon games lol. Lots of versions of the ending on youtube and you can unlock the secret ending by unlocking every world on Proud mode or completing Jiminy’s Journal in full on Standard (on KH2) lol. Enjoy! But the secret ending will be extended in “Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix +” when it’s released.

You’re right, that is only a rumour. Other rumours have said they’re making a completely new KH game for Wii that isn’t actually KH3, but I doubt it personally.
