Kingdom Hearts 3 Theories
I have viewed most of the Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ material that can be found on here, seeing as I have not managed to lay my hands on a genuine copy for myself. I have played through Kingdom Hearts 2 since I got it on March 28th, 2006, and have beaten it within a couple of days on Proud Mode. I unlocked the secret trailer, and became one of the first to view it.
I began to understand the story and how everything came to play in the story a lot earlier than most of my friends, and quickly became the Kingdom Hearts Guru where I was known. That’s total rubbish, but I’d like to believe I was!
Anyways, I thought I had seen all there was for me to see, and quickly pushed all other attempts aside to learn more. Unfortunately, I didn’t take Final Mix into account, because I had come to understand that it would contain no new content at all, let alone the surprising additional cut scenes and “Part 2″ of the secret ending. After surveying the content on kingdomhearts3.net, I have made it another chore to understand the story some more, and maybe piece together what is to be expected in Kingdom Hearts 3. So, if you don’t want any spoilers at all, then I dont know why you clicked on this at all, but please leave now, as I will basically be spilling the general story line, as I know it, to Kingdom Hearts 3.
Now I am going to cover what we know already. From what we have witnessed in the secret trailer, and which is the only leads we can have so far to KH3, is what we all know so far to be the “Keyblade War”. We have seen the three Knights and we have seen the mysterious bald dude, with his “heartless” like counterpart engage in battle. We have viewed the keyblades scattered across a barren wasteland, and we have seen “Birth by Sleep”. Also, some of the subjects in Kingdom Hearts 2 have become very interesting and may play an important part in Kingdom Hearts 3, just as Kingdom Hearts did for Kingdom Hearts 2. Some of these factors are the “Room of Sleep”, mentioned in one of the cutscenes from Final Mix, and Xemnas, the leader of Organization XIII, connection with that room. From the cutscenes, it has been told that the “Room of Sleep” is infact, in the depths of the Lab where Ansem the Great created the majority of his experiments. It has been come to known that Xemnas would occasionally wander to the Room of Sleep and perhaps “Sleep”. He has also been caught talking to someone else within the Room of Sleep, when it is clear that he was the only one to enter into the room, so there is obviously someone totally unknown to the other members of the Organization who communicates with Xemnas, leaving his intentions to lie somewhere other than the unification of the Organization XIII. Also, the beginning to Kingdom Hearts 2, that sums up Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories in a trailer also plays an important part that I had just begun to piece into the theory today.
Now I will start to place in updates what I believe is the story of Kingdom Hearts 3. Remember, this is only a theory, and does not mean what I say is written in stone. Anything can happen in Kingdom Hearts 3 and can simply and totally disprove my theory, because we just don’t know for sure yet. I will in bullet form, continue to make updates on this page once I discover them, and edit or delete any previous ones in case any dead on predictions I make totally contradict another prediction. I hope you enjoy this, and take my ideas into consideration. If you have an opinion, find something that doesnt make sense, or just want to correct me on my facts; then please by all means comment. The more I know, The more you will know.
More Theories on KH3:
- I believe the old man in the Final Mix secret ending, is in fact Xehanhort (Ansem). This being based on how he is wearing exactly what Ansem wears, plus he has distinguishable deep, yellow/orange eyes (Ansem’s most famous feature.)
- The reason why he is older looking is because the Door to the Light has withered away most of his power.
- The Room of Sleep and the Room of Awakening are connected.
- Xemnas uses the Room of Sleep to restore power to Xehanhort (Ansem) and “awaken” him.
- Time Travel is in play, seeing as the Room of Awakening is somewhere during the era of the Keyblade War.
- Xehanhort is the general cause of the Keyblade War.
- Xehanhort is seeking the Master of the keyblade, needing it in order to open something.
- The Chasers, I believe, are the new form of enemies in the game.
- The Knight that gets frozen is in fact Roxas, but in a different time line.
- Roxas in the alternate time line goes by the name of Ven, and has no other recollection of who he truly is.
- The Enigmatic Soldier mentions “Aqua…Ven…” before he battles Sora, leading me to believe Roxas’ name to be Ven.
- Aqua is the blue haired female knight shown in the Final Mix Trailer.
- The Enigmatic soldier is still unknown, but is surely not Sora.
- In the Room of Sleep cutscene in Final Mix, there is armor lying in front of Xemnas as he enters into the Room of Sleep. Upon further inspection, the armor is Roxas’.
- Roxas might also have a connection between the two rooms, and it could be possible to how he would’ve gotten into the Keyblade War.

so since birth by sleep takes place ten years before the events of the original and it will still play out in the visiting worlds format i wonder if we can expect a crisis core themed world. i mean really we could expect any number of prequel stuff.

If you realised this sora(’s) nobody is roxas (roxas is Sora’s nobody). it adds an x. This is the same for ansem being xemnas. This leads me to belive Xehanhort is a nobody. I may post more if i find out more …

I’ve heard that since this game takes place before the first KH, that Sora won’t take any part what-so-ever in it. Is this true? Because if so, I will probably flip out, ’cause I love Sora!
Also, does this ‘Ven’ and ‘Aqua’ only start coming around in Final Mix? Because its too difficult for me to get my hands on a new copy of Final Mix…. they’re far too expensive.
PS: I heard someone say that the 14th member of Organization 13 is a GIRL!

I really dont have much trust for Terra. He doesn’t seem as “hero-like” as the other two knights Ven and Aqua. And then there’s the very end of the trailer where Terra’s eyes go from Sora-blue to Ansem-yellow. I think whoever that old man is did something terrible to Terra and tricked him to use darkness as an engine of power, just like Riku. If this is true than Ansem and this old man use the same tactics and methods to corrupt their enemies, they dress alike but there fighting styles are very different. This old man is quite possibly the best mage we’ve seen in the story, and not to say Ansem isn’t good too because hes does have alot of magical strength himself. But its just watching Xemnas fight you start to see that he has more of a relation to the masked warrior dressed in red and black. The warrior fights with speed and power and uses magic as support and not as a main option of attack similar to Xemnas. Plus I believe that Mickey Mouse appears at the end because these events happen not long before, Ansem would have been younger back then not older. The warrior seems to be young and full of life as he moves with as much if not greater speed then both Ven and Aqua. I believe that the masked warrior is Xehanhort, I believe that Mickey defeats Xehanhort’s master and somehow during the battle Xehanhort lost his memories. Mickey would then return through the Door of Light, it would explain why Mickey knew so much about it and how sure he was that it existed. Its revealed that Mickey was not always king so perhaps it was this battle that won him his throne at Disney Castle. These Chasers are most likely creatures that served Xehanhort’s master and would scatter about chasing keyblade weilders and taking their keyblades, because perhaps with enough keyblades someone would be able to open the door to Kingdom Hearts. The confusion lies in identifying “what” a chaser is, they could be the form of heartless who actually use the hearts they hold to become whole as only those with hearts may hold a keyblade. Xehanhort must of began as a nobody and when his master opened Kingdom Hearts Xehanhort found his heart and became whole again, its why Xemnas wanted to open Kingdom Hearts, he knew he could find his heart there because he had DONE it before. “The fate of all occurs not by chance” Nothings for certain I could be wrong. But what we do know is that whatever happened that day is linked to what will happen in the end. Terra, Aqua and even Ven may still be alive or rather just waiting to be “Awakened”.

when it comes to these theories i have to agree and disagree.
xehanhort is definately the old guy, the apprentice next to him generally says “master xehanhort” to him so yer…
I dont see time travelling anywhere in this, i simply see this as a prequal to give a larger back story and insight to the story while opening newer secrets that will be built up on in later games (continuing sora and roxas’ arc)
I think that xehanhort may just look old… coz he is. ansem and xemnas were his split forms (heartless and nobody respectively) but i feel that his true figure is as seen in the trailer, who knows why his other forms are younger.
im not entirely sure on the relation of ven to roxas. They look the same yet how would that work? roxas is sora’s nobody… if ven is related to roxas he is related to sora surely?
this is as much as i can see, but there no need to look into it yet. The endings of the 3 upcoming games should give us a much greater insight… i hope

the enemies are called unbirths. And i think terra is xehanort for 2 reasons:
1)his eyes go yellow at the end
2) He says he has “a freind” to master xehanort (the old guy). ring any bells. if not look up the room of sleep and/or room of awakening. ansem goes in the room of sleep and says the armor there (which is the same as aquas) is from “his freind”

perhaps “birth by sleep” references a disney storyline. A famous song from the movie Cinderella has a few lines of interest. “A dream is a wish your heart makes/ when your fast asleep.”
Perhaps this birth is the birth of a dream induced by a sort of sleep. Maybe the one Sora was awakened from in Kh2. perhaps ther was something born from his sleep in his dreams. This dream could have been made by his heart.

about that of roxas and ven yeah Nomura already stated that ven is a whole other story and what happens is that ven goes to the dark and terra hates xenahort by making him go to the dark ven repents from what he did and the 3 of them fight xenahort and then xenahort loses his memory and he becomes an apprentice of ansem and thus everything else we know this is the story i think is the most plausible but i’m not sure

i think that in birth by sleep aqua/ven/terra will have a connection with sora/kairi/riku because they are their “unbirths” and i bet an unbirth comes either before they are born or before they become the whole heartless/nobody and die when either their counterparts are born or when their counterparts become a heartless and nobody. the latter is probably not true judging that we didnt see them at all throughout the series. but the one that they “die” when their counterpart is born could be true because it is called birth by sleep so they could all go into the sleeping things that sora was in for a year and when they did kairi sora and riku were born. and this is getting to be a really really really really really long comment.
