Kingdom Hearts 3 Theories
I have viewed most of the Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ material that can be found on here, seeing as I have not managed to lay my hands on a genuine copy for myself. I have played through Kingdom Hearts 2 since I got it on March 28th, 2006, and have beaten it within a couple of days on Proud Mode. I unlocked the secret trailer, and became one of the first to view it.
I began to understand the story and how everything came to play in the story a lot earlier than most of my friends, and quickly became the Kingdom Hearts Guru where I was known. That’s total rubbish, but I’d like to believe I was!
Anyways, I thought I had seen all there was for me to see, and quickly pushed all other attempts aside to learn more. Unfortunately, I didn’t take Final Mix into account, because I had come to understand that it would contain no new content at all, let alone the surprising additional cut scenes and “Part 2″ of the secret ending. After surveying the content on kingdomhearts3.net, I have made it another chore to understand the story some more, and maybe piece together what is to be expected in Kingdom Hearts 3. So, if you don’t want any spoilers at all, then I dont know why you clicked on this at all, but please leave now, as I will basically be spilling the general story line, as I know it, to Kingdom Hearts 3.
Now I am going to cover what we know already. From what we have witnessed in the secret trailer, and which is the only leads we can have so far to KH3, is what we all know so far to be the “Keyblade War”. We have seen the three Knights and we have seen the mysterious bald dude, with his “heartless” like counterpart engage in battle. We have viewed the keyblades scattered across a barren wasteland, and we have seen “Birth by Sleep”. Also, some of the subjects in Kingdom Hearts 2 have become very interesting and may play an important part in Kingdom Hearts 3, just as Kingdom Hearts did for Kingdom Hearts 2. Some of these factors are the “Room of Sleep”, mentioned in one of the cutscenes from Final Mix, and Xemnas, the leader of Organization XIII, connection with that room. From the cutscenes, it has been told that the “Room of Sleep” is infact, in the depths of the Lab where Ansem the Great created the majority of his experiments. It has been come to known that Xemnas would occasionally wander to the Room of Sleep and perhaps “Sleep”. He has also been caught talking to someone else within the Room of Sleep, when it is clear that he was the only one to enter into the room, so there is obviously someone totally unknown to the other members of the Organization who communicates with Xemnas, leaving his intentions to lie somewhere other than the unification of the Organization XIII. Also, the beginning to Kingdom Hearts 2, that sums up Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories in a trailer also plays an important part that I had just begun to piece into the theory today.
Now I will start to place in updates what I believe is the story of Kingdom Hearts 3. Remember, this is only a theory, and does not mean what I say is written in stone. Anything can happen in Kingdom Hearts 3 and can simply and totally disprove my theory, because we just don’t know for sure yet. I will in bullet form, continue to make updates on this page once I discover them, and edit or delete any previous ones in case any dead on predictions I make totally contradict another prediction. I hope you enjoy this, and take my ideas into consideration. If you have an opinion, find something that doesnt make sense, or just want to correct me on my facts; then please by all means comment. The more I know, The more you will know.
More Theories on KH3:
- I believe the old man in the Final Mix secret ending, is in fact Xehanhort (Ansem). This being based on how he is wearing exactly what Ansem wears, plus he has distinguishable deep, yellow/orange eyes (Ansem’s most famous feature.)
- The reason why he is older looking is because the Door to the Light has withered away most of his power.
- The Room of Sleep and the Room of Awakening are connected.
- Xemnas uses the Room of Sleep to restore power to Xehanhort (Ansem) and “awaken” him.
- Time Travel is in play, seeing as the Room of Awakening is somewhere during the era of the Keyblade War.
- Xehanhort is the general cause of the Keyblade War.
- Xehanhort is seeking the Master of the keyblade, needing it in order to open something.
- The Chasers, I believe, are the new form of enemies in the game.
- The Knight that gets frozen is in fact Roxas, but in a different time line.
- Roxas in the alternate time line goes by the name of Ven, and has no other recollection of who he truly is.
- The Enigmatic Soldier mentions “Aqua…Ven…” before he battles Sora, leading me to believe Roxas’ name to be Ven.
- Aqua is the blue haired female knight shown in the Final Mix Trailer.
- The Enigmatic soldier is still unknown, but is surely not Sora.
- In the Room of Sleep cutscene in Final Mix, there is armor lying in front of Xemnas as he enters into the Room of Sleep. Upon further inspection, the armor is Roxas’.
- Roxas might also have a connection between the two rooms, and it could be possible to how he would’ve gotten into the Keyblade War.

Enigmatic Deity: OK first of all you need to go to your Ansem reports. In the Ansem reports it says that the heart is composed of both light and darkness. Sora also states this fact to Xehanort’s heartless in Kingdom Hearts 1. The pressence of darkness in the heart is what allows the heart to be swollowed by darkness and become heartless. Sora is no exception to this rule. Darkness can’t leave Sora’s heart so there is no reason for him to be different when Kairi returned him to normal. Second of all you need to go to the Nomura interviews. Nomura has clearly stated that the knights are completely new characters never before seen in the series. So Terra can’t be Xehanort. Now we do know that the knights are conected to Xehanort’s past and that Terra knew who Xehanort was. It could be that Terra and Xehanort were brothers, but they are not the same person.
on 12 Jul 2007 at 9:30 pm 29. Enigmatic Deity
Ok Tazimus definately the one whos stealing the unltimate fact award
but what if Sora’s story was like Roxas’ where he is not what he thought he was
notice in Kingdom Hearts that when people become heartless and nobody they are different. Now recall Kingdom hearts 1 when Sora was restored from a heartless, to a human, they all new the darkness hadn’t fled them yet but even so, why was he the same
My theory is that Ven was the original and since he was dying or who knows, it could’ve been Ven that was the original, then he exported his soul into Sora’s thus created Roxas at well, it might’ve been that Sora was always a heartless but since Ven was chosen by the keyblade, he did not have the violent crave for hearts. Meanwhile, back in the Gathering Place where the KHII secret ending and KHIIFM+ secret ending took place as well, i believe that Terra was originally Xehanort and that the old man was his heartless, but when Kingdom Hearts was opened in KH1 he might’ve roamed in that time for many a year and when the time came he found himself in the past and did his best to alter time thus making Terra/Xehanort gain the change of heart without Ven or Aqua to help him find the light again, thus creating a pure evil Xehanort and destroying Ansem earlier than he expected to

you guys all sound totally nuts, but hey, you never know, right?

Tazimus Prime: Yes thank u for clearing that up for me im a go look up sum of noruma’s interviews. Also today i just bought Kingdom hearts:final mix + so ill try to get sum more theorys together.
and with the roxas and sora thing as u said makes more sense

terra2007: Where I am very impressed with your Xehanort being the Old Man theory, since you are the only to show some logic in chosing this and explained it therolly. I was however disapointed in your Roxas is Ven theory. If you had read your Secret Ansem Reports more carefully and read interviews with Nomura, you would know why this can’t be. First of all Nomura has blankly stated that the knights have not appeared in the game before and that they are completely new characters. Secondly in the Scret Ansem reports we learn that Kairi’s heart was separated from her body, but because her heart contained no darkness (which means it can’t become a heartless) it went to the nearest body (i.e. Sora’s). Also we learn that Namine was the Nobody created when Sora became heartless not Roxas. When Kairi turned Sora’s heartless back into Sora, Sora’s heartless was used in the creation of Roxas, and that is the reason why Roxas is thought to have a heart and can wield keyblades. See Roxas was created from Sora’s heartless, Sora’s heartless was created from Sora’s heart. Therefore Roxas was created from Sora’s heart. I think I may make on asticle on this.
on 12 Jul 2007 at 10:36 am 24. hayner
wow terra2007,
the thing about roxas’ heart being ven’s actually seems very right to me. That way, it could have been ven who was the keyblade master. That’s y the keyblade went to sora when riku gave himself to the darkness and didn’t just dissapear. The keyblade probably just got impressed when he almost killed himself with that heart extracting keyblade to save Kairi. Hence the reason y he had the keyblade all throughout KH2 even when roxas supposedly had ven’s heart.
on 12 Jul 2007 at 10:07 am 23. terra2007
yes all of these replys mught happen but my theory its kinda sumthing like this.
By the looks of it Terra is the leader out of the three.
Aqua and terra care about ven alot since hes the youngest. If u read sum of the secret ansem reports he quotes ” shall perform an experiment to probe the depths of a person’s heart. One of my own apprentices, Xehanort, has volunteered to be a subject.
The young man has served me ever since I nursed him back from death’s door some years ago.
He had lost all his memories at the time, but later showed remarkable intellectual curiosity and readily absorbed my teachings, gaining deep wisdom. Any mental immaturity is surely due to his young age.
If I explore Xehanort’s heart with psychological test, I may be able to recall the past locked away within. My apprentice Even has also shown great interest in Xehanort’s memories.
But is he really the right subject? Xehanort does indeed exhibit extraordinary talents…
Too extraordinary…
Perhaps they are even superhuman.
In ansems words that means that the old guy from the battle with the knights could of been Xehanort, the knights defeat him and he escapes, changes form into a younger self and ends up in front of raident garden.
Plus with how xehanort always talk about the darkness in his heart the old one must be trying to come back out cause of the memory loss of xehanort. And Xemnas he tried doing the exact same thing as the old man with opening kingdom hearts and ansem too (heartless).
So to conclude this theory. I think that either the keyblade war is going on in sora’s time or obviously in the past.
Also lol srry for writing so much but the thing with roxas and ven they might just be the same person heres my theory
Ok when Ven was thrown off the cliff by the bald guy and cought by aqua. She notices that hes might be dying even though hes eyes are moving. Aqua( the female Knight) possibly somehow send vens heart to somewhere to be safe. It orbably traveled throgh Kingdom Hearts ( which is now open right know) and went to find someone most similar to Ven, His heart ended in Sora. We know that Sora can hold other hearts within himself because thats where kairi’s heart was through out the first game. thinking about it that not only was kairi’s heart withing Sora, but Ven’s heart as well. So when Sora Releases Kairi;s heart in KH1, he alsoreleases Ven’s heart. When Soea’s body and soul was left over, originaly to create a nobody, Vens heart took to this body and made Roxas. Thats why Namine and Axel say that roxas has a heart, and why he is able to weild a keyblade.
Thank you for ready this i got sum of this info off of a couple of websites on google and turned into different ways so it ends up different in my theory

keybladewonders: Is Kairi from Radiant Garden? Yes, you learn this in Kingdom Hearts 1. Is Kairi a princess of that world? Probably not, Kairi is a Princess of Heart, but you don’t have to be the princess of any world to be a Princess of Heart. Is Kairi Ansem’s, the Wise, daughter? My bet is no. We know her grandmother probably lived in the castle and probably worked there too. The only thing that connects her to living in the castle is one cutscene in which Sora sees a little bit of Kairi’s past because he had her heart. There is no proof of a relationship between her and Ansem the Wise.
I doubt the Bald Dude is Ansem’s long lost brother.
The romances wont amount to anything until they are done with Sora’s story.
on 12 Jul 2007 at 4:51 am 21. keybladewonders
has anybody else noticed all the romances in this game?
Sora,Kairi Roxas,Namine ect.and now probibly Ven and Aqua, too. seriously if the relationships dont go anywhere in kh3 my frickin head is going to blow off my neck dont you agree?
on 12 Jul 2007 at 4:39 am 20. keybladewonders
oh, and also, the bald dude might be Ansem’s long-lost brother-maybe
on 12 Jul 2007 at 4:35 am 19. keybladewonders
if wat Tazimus Prime says is true about Kairi, and if she comes from Hollow Bastion, and she’s a princess- does that mean Ansem the Wise is her father? becuze in kh1 and kh2 it says a wise man named Ansem ruled/led the people in that world and in kh1 when her heart was in Sora’s and he fisrt went to Hollow Bastion he said he felt the world was familiar and that there was a warmth inside his heart- maybe thats why Ansem hated Xehanort so much- becuze he stole his name, and his daughter-and when Ansem saw Xemnas when he was by his machine in The World That Never Was he said “you took away my pride” could he mean Kairi? he also said”you proved wat little we both knew” but he probibly didnt tell Kairi becuz he didnt want to freak her out and she couldnt remember anyway and she looks nothing like him
[she’s probibly the spinning image of her mother]and that leaves one question-wat happened to her mother? I dont know if this is true but there are things in the game that can prove this.
on 12 Jul 2007 at 3:30 am 18. Tazimus Prime
kingdomheartsdude: Terra didn’t say that Xehanort was the chosen one. He thought Sora was Xehanort, that is why he attcked Sora.
on 12 Jul 2007 at 1:20 am 17. kingdomheartsdude
oh and it is in the past because king mickey said he trained with master yensid just like sora and he got the same chain that sora got when he finished his training with yensid, so king mickey just learned how to use the keyblade like a master
on 12 Jul 2007 at 1:12 am 16. kingdomheartsdude
the really old guy in the second part of the secret endin must be ansem the wise heartless of nobody because he dissapeared when they tried to stop xemnas. Roxas could not be a chaser because hes soras nobody and he is still fused with sora. Xheanort couldnt be the cause of the war because the first chaser that you fight in KH2+FM he says to sora that he wasnt the original chosen one, it was xheanort. And there is no way that the room of awakening is in that era because it was in the past and xheanort was omly an apprentice so he couldnt of built the room of sleep. And WHAT HAPPENS TO SORA!
on 11 Jul 2007 at 9:57 am 15. Tazimus Prime
@Fan read Jminy’s Journal and the Ansem Reports and play KH1 again. Kairi came from Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden. Xehanort used her in his experimentation for travel between worlds because her heart was not effected by darkness. That is how she ended up on Destiny Island.
As for your third enemy theory. If you read the Ansem Reports you learn that the body is composed of three different parts Heart, Body, and Soul. Now in the secret Ansem Reports we learn that the Body and Soul become the Nobody, of course the Heart becomes the Heartless. Now the theory you just stated is the Soulless/Endless/Dis-Soul theory. In which it is believed that when a heartless is created, so is a Nobodie, but a Soulless/Endless is created from the soul as well. The Dis-Soul theory changes a little bit and says that this enemy isn’t created until the nobodie is defeated thus freeing the soul. Now neither one of these theories has any evidence to support it, but still the rumors are around, and some people say that these are the Chasers as well.
on 11 Jul 2007 at 4:29 am 14. @ Fan
What if a third form is created when a person splits like their heart becomes darknes their body becomes nothing and in all cases i have seen both the heartless and the nobbodies had no defined WILL or SPIRIT of there own they all followed the strongest. maybe the guy waiting for the othe two to awaken is the third reminents of xehanort and is trying to fix himself by recovering heartles ansem nobody ansem and himself maybe its that the chasers are the third biproduct and contain the hearts memories so much so it will try to recover its former self and since people want to belive xehanort might have been good then those residual good feelings might mean he wants to reform into his original form. also ansem the wise says he found xehanort just like kari was found maybe theye are connected in some way? where did they originaly come from and maybe there apperance could be related to the keyblade weilder of chaos maybe even that is xehanort.
these are all guesses and mostly wishfull thinking.
on 11 Jul 2007 at 3:25 am 13. Adam
I thought the bald guy could be Xehanorts father.. dunno thats what i think.. and the “Heartless” looking ally could be his nobody.. and they can split up.. so maybe Sora and Roxas can too.. hope so.. Roxas wears stuff NORMAL people would wear.. Sora wears Clown boots and pants
on 11 Jul 2007 at 3:22 am 12. Adam
The whole Keyblade War couldnt have been too far in the past.. you see Mickey holding the Star Seeker at the end of the trailer.. and not the Dark Side Kingdom Key.. so it IS before or could be during Kingdom Hearts 1.
and I was always under the impression that previous key weilders chose the next weilder and not the key with its own mind.

This is are some of my thoughts on the new series and KH3.
This section has to deal with past information that might affect the next game.
The night Sora received the keyblade it was stated by Nomura that was not suppose to receive it, but that it was suppose to be Riku’s. This is also backed in the game with Jiminy’s Journal. If you were to look under Riku in it it says that Riku is the True Keyblade master. Now this is not to say that Sora would not have recieved, but merely to say that at that time he wasn’t suppose to receive it. The reason why Sora did receive it, stated by Nomura, is because at the time Riku had already given himself over to the darkness. Now your probably asking yourself “what does this have to do with Kingdom Hearts 3 or the new series?” Let me answer that for you. In Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ you can battle the tallest knight Terra. Just before the battle he shares some dialog with you.
“Aqua… Ven… Keyblade… who are you? I can feel it… we have met before… it was when… No… it isn’t you… It isn’t you that I have chosen… Why is it not him… Xe… ha… nort… is that you? Xeha… nort… Xehanort!”
Here you learn the name of the other two knights and that Terra chose somebody for something. Now this could possibly mean that Terra chose Riku to originally to receive the Kingdom Key. My guess is that the fact that Riku was suppose to originally receive the keyblade is going to have something to do with Kingdom Hearts 3.
It is also worthy to the Nobody Xigbar. Because from him you learn an interesting fact. Just before the Sora’s boss fight with Xigbar he says to Sora “That out of all the ones before you, you are the weakest.” Now from this dialog we learn that Xigbar has fought other Keyblade Wielders before. This to has been confirmed by Nomura. Now when using the term weakest Xigbar means that Sora is novice when using a Keyblade. We can see this when we fight Terra. But right now this is a kind of moot point. The point of this entire conversation is that we learn that A) there are other keyblade wielders and B) that Xigbar not only fought them but defeated them as well. So the question remains, who were these other keyblade wielders. Now from the secret videos we learn that there are in fact four or five other keyblade wielders. First there are the three Knights Terra, Aqua, and Ven and the Bald Guy and the Dark Knight (the reason I say four is because it is yet unknown if the Dark Knight is a separate entity or just the heartless/nobody form of the Bald Guy). Now Xigbar could be referring to one or more of these wielders. I should also note that in a scene from Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix + we see Aqua’s armor and Keyblade.
Now this section has to deal with the new series.
Now Nomura has stated that the Kingdom Hearts game to come out will be part of a new series. In the Another reports he mentions that there are four missing adventures to the Kingdom Hearts series. Mickey’s time in the Dark Realm seeking: Kingdom Key: Dark Side, Riku’s adventures in between Chain of Memories, Roxas adventure with the Organization, and Xehanort’s Past. Now it was hinted at the next game would be about Xehanort’s past. You can come to reasonable conclusion from the Birth by Sleep video that you will probably be playing with Mickey and that this game is set in the past. Also the case of the videos comes into question here. The first video that you get at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2 shows a section of an Ansem report having to deal with the keyblade. Then shows Terra standing on the dragon that Xehanort road on. He then looks around two reveal Aqua and Ven. He jumps off the dragon and the dragon disappears and they walk to Sora’s, Riku’s, and Mickey’s keyblades and they pick them up. Then they look into the distance to reveal that a fourth figure is approaching. Then the words Master of Keyblades, the Lost Two, Memory of Xehanort, Chasers, and Keyblade War. Then it says “It all began with…Birth by Sleep.” Now this shows that the Birth by Sleep video happened before the first video. I believe that the first video is in fact meant to be a preview for the Kingdom Hearts 3 game. Now the second video depicts the Knights fighting a Bald Man and a Dark Knight both who wield keyblades. I believe this is meant to be a preview for the in the new series. The first game will probably revolve around Xehanort’s past (aka Memories of Xehanort) and the origins of the keyblade. You will probably playing as Mickey in this one. This will some how tie into Kingdom Hearts 3, much like Sub - Zero and Mortal Kombat 4.
This section has to deal with the Lost Two.
Now we were given a interesting piece text that gives a little insight in to who the Lost Two are and about who Terra is. This piece of text is
“Master Xehanort’s Avenger, his name is Terra.”
“Not yet awakened, he is connected to those two.”
Now this is interesting because Terra expresses much hatred for Xehanort after you fight him and in the text before battle if you choose to battle him again. You can reasonably assume that Terra and Xehanort use to be allies and that Xehanort was a good guy. Now someone on here referenced Xehanort to also mean thunder in latin if you rearrange the letters in his name with out the X in it. Now I wouldn’t have used the Power Ranger to connect this, but I have come to find that there is truth in what this person said. By rearranging the letters to form the word thonare, the more common spelling of the word in tonare. Nomura has stated that Xehanort’s becomes Another and No Heart when the X is removed. The point id that we can assume that Xehanort was a good guy a one time, but for whatever reason turned his back on the light and became a bad guy. Now the connection to the Lost Two comes from the second piece of text in which it says that Terra is not awakened and that he is connected to two people. Now the only people we have seen him with are Aqua and Ven. Another interesting piece of information is that you can only fight Terra after you have beat the game. At least ever single guide I have read about the has said that. Anyways, now Aqua and Ven are not present in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix + because, are alluded two just before the fight with Terra, and we see Aqua’s armor and keyblade in the Room of Sleep. So is safe to assume that the Lost Two are Aqua and Ven.
This section has to deal with the Keyblade War.
Now Nomura has stated that Keyblade War was a way for him to tell us that there were fights between Keyblade Wielders. Also in the Ansem report in the beginning of the Gathering video it states that the Keyblade saved the world and that it wrought chaos upon the world. So it is safe to assume that these legends refer to the Keyblade War. This war was probably waged across the different worlds. Which is why the walls separating them were put up. We are led to believe that passage was possible between worlds do to Kiari’s grandmother’s story. Now Nomura has stated that this story is for the most part a child’s bedtime story, but he also mentioned that there is a small fraction of history in it. The Keyblade War would also explain the conflicting legends across the worlds about the keyblade it’s self. Now as for the Master of Keyblades.

I woulkd like to point out however that the Old Man doesn’t sport the heartless symbol that Ansem, seeker of the dark, sported. In fact the Dark Knight doesn’t even sport it.
on 09 Jul 2007 at 10:15 pm 9. Tazimus Prime
It is debtable considering that Xehanort’s heartless was still in Riku’s heart at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 2. The thing is that we don’t know if is still there after the machine exploded.
on 09 Jul 2007 at 10:13 pm 8. ansemriku
no offense, but most of this are well known facts. Either already verified or guessed and stated on other parts of this website. Especcially the names. They’ve been stated their elemental meanings(inclding riku, sora and kairi) time and time again on here. As for the old man being Xeanorts heartless, I’ve said this in other areas and no one believes me, but it makes perfect sense.
on 09 Jul 2007 at 9:18 pm 7. Luv_Roxas
Yes but I do think that everyone has a connection to each other still… This is getting evan more confusing cause i havent played final mix yet, but i still intend to try and understand
on 09 Jul 2007 at 9:14 pm 6. Tazimus Prime
First of all Roxas is not Ven. Nomura has stated this time and time again. The Egnamatic Soildier is named Terra. The armor in the Room of Sleep is not Ven’s, but Aqua’s. Just for eclarification, ‘the Knights are completely new characters that have never been seen in the series.’, that is a direct quote from Nomura.
Other then that I can’t find anything wrong with what you have said other then the fact there is little if no evedence to back it up.
Oh and Terra, Aqua, and Ven (Ventus) are latin. Ven is merely a nickname by the way.
on 09 Jul 2007 at 7:23 pm 5. Roxas25
riku i think means water in japanese sora is sky and kai from kairi is earth so the may have a conection to ven terra and aqua
on 09 Jul 2007 at 2:16 pm 4. Zakk
Henrykk is right , this must have a connection..
I think a fusion ingame with the 3…
i dunno.. but i will buy this game!!
on 09 Jul 2007 at 11:45 am 3. henrykk
The names are interesting, it’s like, in portuguese Terra is Earth(both planet and element), Aqua is similar to Água, and it means Water, and Ven is similar to Vento and it means Wind… I don’t know if you already knew that but it’s funny…
on 08 Jul 2007 at 8:52 pm 2. TheBelieverHero
All of the people with pure blue eyes have the purest hearts and are keyblade wielders or have wielders of the keyblade. Riku doesn’t because he’s been in darkness. His eyes are purple.
on 08 Jul 2007 at 8:50 pm 1. MasterofKeyblade
All of the armored people (Ven, Terra…) might be distant relatives of Sora, Riku, and Kairi.
