Kingdom Hearts 3
The future of the Kingdom Hearts series is, as we are all aware, still unclear.
However, knowing both Square-Enix and Disney, the huge popularity of the PlayStation 2 games Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 would tend to indicate that series is not to end with Kingdom Hearts 2.
It is for this reason that we have created this Web site; a site we hope will be able to bring readers news and rumours about the series, aiming particular focus on the future of the series. Thusly, we have named our site “Kingdom Hearts 3″, in anticipation of the next Kingdom Hearts title being named Kingdom Hearts 3.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled to some out sometime 2010-2011 exclusively for Playstation 3. Square made a deal w/ Sony. But don’t take my word for it.

I heard this last year in August when I watch G4’s E4 gaming convention.

On a different note, I love KH to death, but I saidly chose when the games premiered to stick w/ microsoft getting the Xbox and Xbox360. I don’t and do regret it.

the problem with kingdom hearts is that they come out really quick after another one has been realeased so i dont get alot of time to get money but anyway i hope kh3 comes out on ps2 at least 358/2 days is coming out on ds and birth by sleep is coming out on PSP becuase i have both consoles including ps2 but because of the release of new consoles kh on ps2 is out of here but i hope its on ps2 it better be

Umm kingdom hearts 3 might not come out. If it does come out it will be early 2011 (3 years from now).
Here is part of the interview with Tesuya Nomura.
In an interview with Tesuya Nomura (Series Creator), when asked if he had thought of a plotline for Kingdom Hearts 3, he stated “Hmm… I have an idea but it can’t be helped because my team are planning to work on our next different title. So we’re not working on KHIII now and we’re not planning to work on it for some time, too. I have a plot in my head but I’m not sure if it’ll be released to the world or just stay in there” (Source: KH2 Ultimania)
After the release of Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+, Nomura gave another insight into the possible future of the series: “My own feelings are that I would like to give Sora a break from large adventures for a little while. In the ending of Kingdom Hearts II, there was a scene where Sora received a letter from the King; for Sora, I would like you to consider this as a new beginning.”

Ahem:
They have taken so long because right now after a year or two, Square Enix is wrapping up on the development of THREE new KH games, which come out this summer. KH: Birth By Sleep is coming out for the Sony PSP, KH: Coded is coming out for moile phones, and KH 358/2 Days is coming out for the Nintendo DS. As for KH3, as far as I know Square Enix has not announced that they are even developing yet. The E3 event is occuring in Mid-July this year, in which fans hope for the announcement of KH3 as an in development title.
