Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep
The new installement of the Kingdom Hearts series for the PSP, explaining the deep past of Kingdom Hearts, we are introduced by 3 characters, Ven, Terra and Aqua, Ven has a relation with Sora, Ven means air, as Sora means wind, which are the same; Aqua means water, and Kairi means ocean, which leads the same to water; Terra means earth, as Riku has some relation with earth. The major playable character is Terra, seen in the scans. In the game, the world Hollow Bastion or better known as Radiant Garden will explain himself more. Disney characters will make an appereance here as well. The old man is an older version of Xehanort, the game itslef will show the gamers the Real Keyblade Master, as Tetsuya Nomura (Director) well explained on his interview.
Trailer Descryption:
Scenes of the ending of Kingdom Hearts 1 flash by on the screen, and two phrases are seen clearly onscreen. One reads “Deep Past” and the other “Shut-Eyes gives birth to the concealed fate.”
We are then confronted by a young boy who looks like Roxas conversing with another young boy with black hair. Their surroundings seem to resemble Hallow Bastion (Radiant Garden). The name “Ven” is thrown outward, referring to the boy who looks like Roxas.
The scene change various times before stopping at an iamge of the Old Man from the KH2FM+ secret ending. He is called “Master Xehanort” by Terra. Soon after, Terra summons his keyblade and the screen chandes.
Various worlds are shown, and one of which is familiar to us all. “Olympus Colliseum” is making another comeback, followed by a brand new world, that of which resembles Sleeping Beauty.
The video then changes back to Terra battling against a dark figure, whom you can tell is male. This is the same man from the Secretn Ending of KH2FM+, the one who the Old Man creates. Terra is able to forceably get the man’s helmet off, but his face is concealed.
King Mickey is shown summoning kis keyblde, and then the scene changes very quicly to Terra on a beach. He seems to be watching two boys play in the ocen. After he rests his weapon into the ground, the two boys he was watching are clearer and they look like Sora and Riku. Soon after, Terra says “Please don’t depend on me, just erase me… friend.

Birth by Sleep, ask yourself, when was Roxas born? When Sora slept. Think about it, it’s not a spell or phrase, it’s Roxas’ birth. And 358/2 days, it is based when Roxas entered the Organization, and when he quitted too, and this DS game is occuring in Sora’s slumber, I mean, something had to happen when he slept. So what I don’t understand is why it is called 358/2 days instead of birth by sleep, well, because, the DS game is more based on Roxas entering and quitting the Organization, not in his birth. So another question is, why is the PSP game called Birth by Sleep? What I think, is that Terra, Aqua and Ven were somehow in charge of preventing Roxas from entering the Organization. Now, remember in the Secret Ending? Tetsuya Nomura mentioned Keyblade Wars, Keyblade Master and other phrases, then it said “it all began with… Birth by Sleep”, and if Birth by Sleep is a videogame, and it happened before the Keyblade Wars and the other stuff, then Tetsuya Nomura may have given the names of the upcoming KINGDOM HEARTS GAMES!!!

Roxas wasn’t born while sora was sleeping, he was born when sora stabbed himself with riku’s keyblade. Maybe Xemnas found Roxas in The World that never was. There is something tht i dont get. if xemnas spun sora’s name around roxas, then it turned into roxas, then why didnt xemnas just take roxas back to the organization? or did he?

well…in my opinion, these games shouldn’t only be exclusive with the PSP, DS, and Cellphones!! They should also be on the PS2 ’cause not all of us have these three altogether, maybe we have 1 or 2 the three gadgets but we still won’t be able to experience all side stories like Chain of Memories, which I was denied of experiencing just because it was only exclusive with GBA (game boy advance). Where’s the JUSTICE in all this huh?!?

i think that the scene was in the past and the bald gut is ansem because his suit looks like the suit rikku wears so he could have trained with him in the future. when the guy in the scene was frozen it looked like roxas and he could have forgotten about every thing and that kingdom hearts birth by sleep is roxas’ story during kingdom hearts 1.

Josh/ViVi is right. How can Roxas have a brother? He’s a nobody. He was born from Sora’s body and soul. Ven can’t possibly be Roxas’ brother, but he does have a connection to Sora, what it is… I’m not sure yet.

I was just reading the paragraph up top explaining the new video and some ideas popped in my head. Now, I odn’t know if this has already been said but the first thought that came into my head by “Deep past” was this new game. It supposedly takes place in the past so, makes sence. Then, “Shut eyes gives birth to a concealed fate”. Well I believe the “shut eyes” is dealing with death. This death is supposed to take place, almost like destiny. For example, Terra must die to save the world in a way, this is Terra’s “concealed fate”. And i think Terra knows about his fate, mainly because he is telling whom ever “Please do not depend on me…”….oh and sorry for the long comment.

I think there is a father of sora because if you look at the trailer of Kingdom Hearts3 at the end you will see a knight taking off his mask and that roxas was there to maybe roxas followed his father just to probly save the worlds agian and then if you saw every part of it you will see King Mikey seeing the trouble and probly going over to roxas and revie him so thats all I think about this question.

Seeing you having such a deep discussion about the 3 knights and how they are connected to sora, riku, and kiari makes me tearful in some way ;-).
Well anyway, you all have good points and somewhat good theories, but in the end, you must get it through your heads that the three knights are not blood related to the 3 main characters. But here is a clue before you chop off my head. Think only about how they are related by their skill at handling the keyblade. From there, i shall let your minds rack up answers. that makes sense in a way, but it stil raises many questions, for one thing,Ven looks more like roxas so its possible that they are related by blood, on the other hand roxas was soras nobody so why would soras dad take after him, also sora has brown hair not blonde.
and to get things straight, its not kingdom hearts 3,its kingdom hearts birth by sleep.
to be completely honest, i would believe that Terra is soras pops, and aquas his mom; thats just my personal opinion so dont tear the hell outta it.

black heart: Actually it should. See Birth by Sleep takes place ten years before Kingdom Hearts 1, like you said. Now that would make Sora five years old when Birth by Sleep happened. Ok we can throw Ven out being Sora’s since Ven seems roughly the same Sora is in KH1 & KH2. Making him either 15 or 16. Unless they want to go into the whole teenager having a son ordeal then we can scratch him off the list. Now Sora’s mother’s voice makes an appearance in Kingdom Hearts 1, but yet we don’t see her. Now Aqua’s keyblade and armor we know to be in Radiant Garden in Xehanorts secret lab. Yet she is missing. Now from what we have seen in Kingdom Hearts 1 and from a video in the FM we know Sora has a good memory. It think it is odd however that he doesn’t remember his parents carrying keyblades. Hell he doesn’t even know what a keyblade is until Leon explains it to him in Traverse Town. You would think he would at least remember his parents having big keys and suits of full-plate mail in the house. I mean they aren’t something you just hide in a closet and say it’s a Halloween costume. Also I think Terra at some point would have recognized his own son in their fight in KH2 FM. Like Nomura said there is a connection between them, however it’s not blood.

I suppose your right, but one can only come up with answers, but it is possible that Terra never told him, he also might not have had the armor yet, and as far as losing his memories go, it might be similar to what Namine did to sora in chain of memories; and this has been bugging me for some time, terra’s eyes change at the end of bbs, so does it mean he possibly has an anti form?

And for the keyblade, it might be possible that Terra never summoned it around anyone on the islands, or tell anyone for that matter, and for sora’s mom, you said we never see her, so it does in a way make sense that aqua could be his mother.

monkey d. luffy: A first of Ven is not Ven’s real name. Nomura has said that it is just a nickname. Also Roxas didn’t come into being until Sora got turned back into a human by Kairi in KH1. In KH2 FM you see Xemnas give Roxas his name. The name Sora appears and letters start roatating around him until Xemnas stops them with the X and thus the name is given to him. So Ven and Roxas are not the same person.

But yes, in NO way is Ven directly or indirectly linked to Sora or Roxas as many of us (are lead to) believe..
And, NO, Aqua is not directly or indirectly linked to Kairi or Rikue either, Especially the “She’s Riku’s Mother..” And i’m not even saying this because they obviously lack any visible resemblance at all…
Like Blackheart stated, Square-Enix’ Nomura said they won’t have anything to do with them in that sense…
I’d also like to point out to “Roxas Friend” that, there’s only The Heartless and The Nobody, the Soul is stored inside one’s Nobody… It does not make up a “Species” of its own.

Now I know where all of this is coming, but there is no blood relations between the knights and Sora, Riku, and Kairi. Nomura said that the knights have connections to characters in the series. Now had that connection been a blood relationship I’m pretty sure Nomura would have said that the knights are relate to Sora, Riku, and Kairi. Instead he said connection. Now we know that Nomura has hinted that there is a reason why Ven and Roxas look alike, but the odds of Roxas being Ven reincarnated or Sora having Ven’s heart is slim to none. The reasons being that Sora is 4 years old when Birth by Sleep happens. Now we know Ven is short for Ventus which means wind in latin, and Sora is short for sky japanese. So there is a connection there. Of course the same applies for the other knights and characters too. Terra meaning Earth, Riku meaning land, Aqua meaning water, and Kairi meaning Ocean. Now here is something interesting Riku means land and land is where you’ll find earth. Kairi means ocean and the ocean is where you’ll find water. Sora means sky and the sky is where you’ll wind. Also, oddly enough, Aqua’s armor and keyblade are in Radiant Garden which is where Kairi is from. Now there are some problems with the connections. In “The Gathering” Terra picks up Sora’s Keyblade and Ven picks up Riku’s. Aqua picks up King Micky’s too. Now this is explained in Kingdom Hearts 1 and Nomura interviews by the fact that Riku was suppose to receive the the keyblade and not Sora, but Riku gave his heart to darkness the night he would have received it and so it went to Sora instead. Now just before the Terra Boss fight in KH2 FM Terra tells Sora that he (Sora) isn’t the one he (Terra) chose. Thus mistaking Sora for Xehanort and attacking him. Now I believe that Terra was the one that chose Riku to wield the keyblade. Now Nomura has stated that there are more keyblade wielders out there, just that the keylbade requires a particularly strong hearted individual to wield it. We know this is true because of the existence of Master Xehanort and his apprentice and of King Micky. Now I think that the connection between Terra, Ven, and Aqua is that Sora, Riku, and Kairi will replace them has keyblade wielders or something to that effect anyways.

There is not going to be a Kingdom Hearts anime. There is only the mange, novels, video games, cards, and soundtracks. There isn’t even talks of an anime series because Disney owns all the character rights. dimand dust xd 2000: Because the simple fact is Tetsuya Nomura said so. They cannot be the same person because the creator of the games said so. You can’t get a more basic answer then that. Now when the game comes out in Japan I pretty sure after a few days someone will put something on wikipedia and give you a better reason as to why they look alike and are not the same person, but until then that is what we have.

Also how would they explain the fact that Ven, who appears to be roughly the same age as Sora is now, is father. Also Aqua being Sora’s mother make absolutely no sense either. Also that would only raise more question has where is Sora truly from and why is Ven, who looks to be 15, having a child with a woman that seems to be older then him.

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is a Japan only release of Kingdom Hearts 1 with all the extras the American version got along with a few new cut scenes, two new keyblades, different coloring for enemies, a couple of new enemies, and an extra Boss against the Enigmatic Man which was really Xemnas.
Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix + is Japan only release of Kingdom Hearts 2 with extra cut scenes, new enemies, new Gumi ship missions, new side quest, extra bosses which include every single member of the Organization and the Enigmatic Soldier, and two new keyblades. It also comes with a PS2 version of Chain of Memories which has enhanced graphics and new cut scenes. Once again the English voice acting is present in this game. Alas, unlike the previous Final Mix which included mostly extras we got with our version of Kingdom Hearts 1, our Kingdom Hearts 2 was exactly the same as the Japanese version. So they get the Final Mix version while we sit by and wish they would release it in overseas market.

Jean-Francois: They are not the parents of Sora and Riku. First Nomura hasn’t explained the fact that Kairi was given a keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 2. Let’s not forget that Kairi is a special case and that she was given the keyblade by Riku instead of it appearing out of nowhere like Riku’s and Sora’s did. Plus it could be just something she can do because she is a Princess of Heart. Second I really don’t think Ven is Sora’s father because Ven seems to be roughly the same age as Sora and Sora is 15. So I don’t think Square or Disney is going to go into why an under age teen in a game gear towards kids is the father of a 4 year old boy at this point in time. Remember Sora and Riku are 4 and 5 at this time. So it would be kind of strange to have underage teens as parents in a Disney game.

However in a Famitsu interview about Birth by Sleep Tetsuya Nomura reveals that it does in fact place ten years in the past. Now if you read the description of Sora in the Kingdom Hearts 1 manual it clearly states he is 14. Then all it is simple math.

I’ve thought about this for a while and after reading alot of people’s opinions about the story for Birth by Sleep it seems pretty obvious that this is meant to really mess with our minds. Anywho I have my own theory. The 3 keyblade wielders Ven, Terra, and Aqua could be the true keyblade masters along with Xehanort and his apprentice, but what if the old guy is the real Xehanort and the Ansem/Xemnas stole his name too because, if you think about it, when Ansem the Wise found him he had no memory but was able to remember Xehanort. What if he stole that name too? Also Ven, the guy that looks like Roxas, most likely is Roxas cus they look too much alike.

I don’t know how Aqua is tied to any of the KH characters (or if she even is) or the tie between Terra and Sora but they do look alot alike. I really think Ven is Roxas but Birth by Sleep took place before the 1st KH. Hmmm……maybe there’s a paradox between Roxas and Ven that ties to Sora.

The only connection we know as of right now is that Aqua means Water and Kairi means Ocean, so she has some connection Kairi. That’s all we do know anyway.
If anything, I say Terra resembles Sora a little bit.
I think Ven and Roxas are the same, but nothing has been confirmed. We have to wait until the game comes out.

Okay I see what you’re saying but it doesn’t make sense in Xehanort’s case. Yeah Xemnas and “Ansem” look like Ansem the Wise’s apprentice in KH2 but if the old guy is also Xehanort then isn’t that a bit wierd?

I also have another idea: Maybe the Xehanort in KH2 and the old guy in the FM2 ending are two different Xehanorts. Maybe the apprentice to Ansem the Wise was once the apprentice to the “Master Xehanort” and, going by what I read above, is the dark figure that Terra battled and he somehow ended up with Ansem the Wise. idk exactly but yeah just a theory^^

I’m not sure how the gameplay is going to work on the PSP, it worked with COM, however I doubt that it will work on PSP, it’s a shame that they decided to do this. The DS KH looks good, however I wish that they had implemented that gameplay on this game.

I also heard they were bringing the card battle system in COM back to BBS but in a different way. I’ve seen screenshots of the battles and they look pretty sick I just wanna know more of the story. I also have a hunch that we haven’t seen the last of the Organization XIII. Oh yeah in COM how did Zexion die cus I never played it.

BrinKofDawN: Nomura has said that things have changed with the battle since those screen shots were taken. Also Organization XIII is done for. I mean come on, Sora, Riku, the Riku Replica (on the advice of Axel), and Axel killed every single member of the Organization except for Roxas and Axel. Roxas was reunited with Sora and Axel sacrificed himself. Oh and Zexion is one that the Riku replica kills. The only other member that could be left is the mysterious 14th member. So depending on how 358/2 Days goes depends on the possibility of it, which right now is looking slim to none.

Kevin: You can get most this info on this site. No Birth by Sleep is not out yet. Currently there is only 3 Kingdom Hearts games, 6 if you count each of the remakes. Birth by Sleep, 358/2 Days, and Coded haven’t been released yet.
