Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix Summary
With the release of the game imminent, I decided to do a summary of what we know about Final Mix. I may have missed some information:
4 Difficulties:
- Beginner
- Standard
- Proud
- Critical
New Modes:
- Theatre Mode
- Piece Collection Mode
Theatre Mode includes cutscenes in both Japanese and English and is only unlocked after the completion of both Re: Chain of Memories and Final Mix.
Piece Collection Mode includes 6 pieces of Tetsuya Nomura Artwork. They’re like jigsaw puzzles, and the pieces are collected through the Crown Quest. So far, a 48 piece puzzle and a 12 piece puzzle have been seen, which means there could be over 100 pieces to collect in all.
The Crown Quest includes crown tokens to be found in many different worlds. Sora has been seen wearing a crown which is confirmed as a new accessory, which could be the prize for completing the quest.
New Weapons
Goofy has been seen with Vexen’s Shield which is presumably a prize for defeating Vexen. Sora has been seen with an unusual-looking Keyblade which could also be received from the Vexen battle. There will most likely be many more extra weapons.
New Items and Accessories
Although nothing has been said about an update to the Synthesis system, there will be new items and accessories in the game.
New Scenes (in no particular order)
- Roxas and Axel in Twilight Town
- Roxas and Riku as Xehanort’s Heartless revealing Sora’s name changing to Roxas
- Riku talking to DiZ in the World That Never Was
- Roxas battling Riku in the World That Never Was
- Organization Meetings
- Naminé and Axel at Sunset Terrace
- Extended Secret Ending including a battle (unlocked only if the Secret Boss is defeated in Critical Mode)
New Battles (in no particular order)
- Sora VS. Roxas (compulsory)
- Sora VS. Axel
- Sora VS. Lexaeus
- Sora VS. Zexion (whose weapon is the ‘Mirage Book’)
- Sora VS. Marluxia
- Sora VS. Larxene
- Sora VS. Enigmatic Soldier (Secret Boss – According to Nomura, it’s the hardest Kingdom Hearts Boss ever - He has 17 Health Bars)
All of the other Organization Members can be battled optionally too, as well as compulsorily during the game.
New Areas
There are new areas in Hollow Bastion to access the Organization Battle Arena – These new areas can only be accessed through a series of puzzles and Glide is needed.
There is also a new area to battle the Enigmatic Soldier.
New Costumes
Sora will be wearing a new Halloween costume in Christmas Town, possibly along with Donald and Goofy.
New Enemies
There will be new types of Heartless, although it’s unknown whether there will be more types of Nobodies.
The 13 Organization Mushroom Heartless are included in the game seen in multiple locations, but they are altogether in Hollow Bastion. It is still unknown exactly what needs to be done when you encounter them, but they apparently have features related to the 13 Organization Members.
New Form and Abilities
‘Limit Form’ will now be available at some point during the game, which resembles Sora’s outfit from the original Kingdom Hearts and features abilities including ‘Dodge Roll’, ‘Strike Raid’, and ‘Ragnarok’.
“Another Report”
People who preordered the game will get “Another Report” which is a small book in Japanese. Little is known about what’s in it although there may be an interview about the project later in the year.
We now know the contents are:
- Story Report
- Proto Type Report
- Director’s Secret Report XIII
- Manga (by Shiro Amano)
- Novel (by Tomoco Kanemaki)

it will come out on ps2 and it is gonna have a jap version and english version both r the same game play with a couple of minor diffrent things the main difference from kh2 is u can’t get micky as a summon and u fight all 13 people in orginisation XIII

form what i heard the version being released in Japan is in english w/ japanese subtitles. KH:FM+ is a 2-disc thing, one disc with KH2:FM and the other Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, which is for the PS2. KH2:FM is all the same except for the added scenes and battles and all that other stuff. That’s only from what I heard, so yeah.

Xemnas, this is some of ur answers.Because i got the game.space paranoida is still here.Kingdom hearts chasin of memories has the card battle system still.kingdom hearts 2 is exactly the same except for a new costume for holloween town,new bosses ad a limit for and some other stuff. Soras twilight town,roxas twilight town and radiant garden is in it. And every single thing from the origanal is in it.The bad news is the new scenes r not at all voiced and are in japanese subtitles.Meaning we don’t ko wwhat there saying. this is for xemnas 1)kh2 fm has 2 discs one with kh2 and the other with re:chain of memories( with card sistem) 2) all worlds are included even “space paranoids” and last dont listen to all the rumors you hear, people use to make it up just to impress, ok?

WARNING: IF YOU HATE PEOPLE ASKING A LOT OF QUESTIONS, DO NOT READ THIS! So, is KH2 FM a mixture between KH COM and KH2, because I don’t wanna battle with those stupid cards. And is Organization XIII still in it, because I forgot what Ro… I mean, Someone’s number is? If your smart and got to The World That Never Was on KH2, you’ll know the last 3 letters of that person’s name are. And is The World That Never Was, Sora’s Twilight Town, Roxas’s Twilight Town, and Radiant Garden still in FM? And have you ever noticed that most of the characters are from Disney movies, and the rest are from Final Fantasy games, and the rest are made up? OMG! O-M-G! PLEASE TELL ME SPACE PARANOIDS IS STILL IN THE GAME! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! Okay,no more questions. Sniff.
