LOS ANGELES (June 23, 2011) — Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, announced today the worldwide simultaneous launch of Victorian Mysteries®: The Moonstone for iPhone®, iPod® touch and iPad®.

Part of the Victorian Mysteries series of games from developer Freeze Tag Inc., The Moonstone is adapted from Wilkie Collins’s 19th century novel of the same name — widely considered as the first detective novel ever written in the English language.

Players, playing the role of Detective Cuff, are drawn into a world of suspense, suspicion and deception as they are tasked with solving the mystery of the missing Moonstone. The investigation focuses on the disappearance of a large Indian diamond given to a young Englishwoman for her eighteenth birthday. When the gem goes missing, suspicion falls on all parties involved.

“The Victorian Mysteries series of games has been a smash hit with PC and Mac gamers,” said Freeze Tag CEO Craig Holland, “so we’re excited to be working with an international publisher like Square Enix on the global launch to bring this classic detective tale to a mobile audience.”
