New Kingdom Hearts Games Revealed
Hi guys, this info just came here from the forums, and so, without explaining, here it is:
Quite a lot of new information was brought up; first, this is the new artwork:
Second, Square-Enix released trailers of the new games. But these trailers were shown privately, so all we have are descriptions. Here they are along with the new logos.
When the video begins, we are introduced with a series of images, followed by the words “Kingdom Hearts: New Concepts and Game Titles.” Right after this, the ending to Kingdom Hearts 2 plays, followed by the phrases “The secret ending has been dealt with, and the worlds extend once again” and “flow”.
The screen fades back in to Jiminy Cricket and the phrase “Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories”. He is peering into his journal, noticing a phrase that he cannot remember writing. It reads “You need to return, to heal the wounds”. This phrase seems to alert Jiminy in some way, as he runs off to report the finding to King Mickey. The King is startled by the discovery, but only replies with “Only he is the one who can solve it.”
We fade in and out to Sora standing on the beach at Destiny Islands. He is wearing his Kingdom Hearts 1 style clothing, but he is only shown as computer data being transmitted.
When the image of Sora disappears, a battle scene commences. As Sora is moving blocks around to finish a puzzle game, heartless are attacking from all angles. The gameplay mechanics seem very odd. After the puzzle is finished, a command called “Debugging” appears on the screen. After being activated, Sora moves extremely quickly and then vanishes.
The last scene includes Sora and Mickey in Traverse Town. Mickey says to no one in particular “I was here on that day.” and “Let’s speak truly.”. We are then presented with the name of the game: Kingdom Hearts: Coded. It has been announced to be a mobile phone game.
We are introduced with the scene where Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories had came to an end, and are then confronted with the phrase “The other side attached to Sora still sleeps”, along with “The mind comes back whenever they touch.”
The video then focuses upon Roxas and Axel, sitting atop the clock tower in Twilight Town. This seems to be the same scene from Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+. Soon after, the video shows Roxas being invited into Organization XIII. He is being greeted by all, and introduces himself, and they do the same to him. Then the scene fades into Roxas actually joining the Organization.
Following this is a short clip of Mickey talking about Axel, and Saix near Roxas. Roxas is shown pulling out both of his keyblades, and it moves into gameplay. The gameplay confirms definitively that you may play with Roxas, Axel, Saix and Xigbar.
Xemnas then mentions something very interesting. He explains that a 14th member has joined their Organization, and that this member is female. This scene is quickly followed by the title of the game: “Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days” and a whispering Roxas saying “I will disappear from this world in 151 days”
This game is for the beloved Nintendo DS.
Scenes of the ending of Kingdom Hearts 1 flash by on the screen, and two phrases are seen clearly onscreen. One reads “Deep Past” and the other “Shut-Eyes gives birth to the concealed fate.”
We are then confronted by a young boy who looks like Roxas conversing with another young boy with black hair. Their surroundings seem to resemble Hallow Bastion (Radiant Garden). The name “Ven” is thrown outward, referring to the boy who looks like Roxas.
The scene change various times before stopping at an image of the Old Man from the Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ Secret Ending. He is called “Master Xehanort” by Terra. Soon after, Terra summons his keyblade and the screen changes.
Various worlds are shown, and one of which is familiar to us all. “Olympus Coliseum” is making another comeback, followed by a brand new world, that of which resembles Sleeping Beauty.
The video then changes back to Terra battling against a dark figure, whom you can tell is male. This is the same man from the Secret Ending of Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ that the Old Man creates. Terra is able to forcably get the man’s helmet off, but his face is concealed.
King Mickey is shown summoning his keyblade, and then the scene changes very quickly to Terra on a beach. He seems to be watching two boys play in the ocean. After he rests his weapon into the ground, the two boys he was watching are clearer and they look like Sora and Riku. Soon after, Terra says “Please don’t depend on me, just erase me… friend.” The phrase “Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep” arises, and it is revealed this game is for the PSP.
Note: It has been rumored the DS game is being co-developed by Hand (Chocobo Tales) and the PSP game is being developed by the Crisis Core team. This is not a confirmation, just speculation.

SE are probly not making KH3 until the PS3 price goes way down thats probobly why they are making KH spinoffs
P.S didnt Nomura say that the new seiries wouldnt have the words Kingdom Hearts in the title

OK people just telling you, the new member is not Namine because if she was she’d have a ‘X’ in her name, but she doesn’t, so don’t keep thinking its Namine, ok?

i dont have a psp or a ds simply because all games for those two handhelds SUCK bigtime.the end.ill just try to get them for my birthday or for christmas so i dont have to pay for them….does anyone know a release date for the us yet? also does any one have any news on FFXIII?

Well if they plan to create KH3 when price of PS3 get low and that is in few years they should create remake of this three games for PS2. BTW price of PS3 will get low when SONY design new console (probably PS4) and then we will have the same problem and that is kinda stupid!

all the games on PSP and DS do not suck, you don’t know what your talking about. KH3 could be on the Wii also, since PS3 might be dead by the time they start making it.

I believe Square is just buying time until a price drop that allows the majority of their rabid fan base to purchase a PS3 AND whatever titles they are fooling around with for the system.
They might even try to market it around the same time for the sake of sales. At least, that would make sense to me… and a lot of marketing majors.

i think that a better more ethical idea would be to release the KH3 if there will be one , and release it on the nintendo wii , the wii could beifit way more form that game then the other two consoles

The kingdom hearts game isn’t meant to be nintendo’s savior , so thats what I think about that…I already had the mindset that the ps2 installments were done , so I’ve been storing money away for the ps3 JUST for my next kingdom hearts game. But damn it all to hell with these little side games. Don’t get me wrong , I get that these are sidestories , and I don’t mind them coming out on hand helds , but lets be serious here people. No one fell in love with the game by playing chain of memories on GBA alone. You must have played the first or the second game on ps2 , if not both. Lets face it , kingdom hearts is at its best when its on a nice big tv , with all of square’s beautiful graphics and music. DAMMIT!!!
PS: Sum1 already made this point , but its worth mentioning again…Didn’t Nomura say that the side stories wouldn’t be called Kingdom Hearts? All 3 of these games are Kingdom Hearts:Insert sub name here. He said it’d be a whole new series based in the same universe. Perhaps that haven’t made all the announcements yet?

Im so glad that they’re putting Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep on PSP, I have one so this one continues from the actual KH2 at least so. I want buy the coded too on my Sidekick 3 unless they only do it on V cast again like regular KH. I’m kind upset I dont have a DS. I think Tetsuya was just messing with us when he said it wont be called Kingdom Hearts, I think he made it a riddle, he said itl continue but it wont be JUST NAMED KINGDOM HEARTS there’s 3 other kinds that’s what he said.

I’ve already said it and so have others. You have expected to see the new games on handhelds. Nomura’s interview (which is published on this site) says he wants to use one of these systems or all three. He also said he will not be working with the PS2 after KH2:FM+.
And for whoever said that Namine can’t be the 14th member of the organization because her name doesn’t have an “x” in it, thats ridiculous. It’s not like that is a requirement set forth by Xemnas.
She is the last member and it’s clear in her role in chain of memories. They used her to manipulate Sora.

the only thing i see wrong with the whole Namine theory is that even though she controled Sora in chain of memories she ended up betraying the organization and helping Sora and Diz(Ansem). However, anyone that says she can’t be because of her name or because she is inside kairi is wrong because this is in the past.
Another thing, if this is in the past then maybe namine hasn’t betrayed the organization yet. Until they give us a more explicit timeline we can’t say for sure.

I think its good that there’re not on a console because it means that it wont take as long to make. Like KH2 took forEVER and if they’re making three are they making them at the same time? I got a DS but it looks like the best one. Who sereiously thought that Axel was gone for good like hes the BEST character in KH2. So lets go back in time and pretend he never died.

Birth By Sleep is only a side story people. It’s only made to explain the backgrounds of the Birth By Sleep Characters and set the stage for Kingdom Hearts 3. You know how many discs Kingdom Hearts 3 will have to be split into to explain the WHOLE Story? It must be a long story if it takes 3 new games to set things into perspective. But me, I like these 3 New Games, especially if you can play as members of the Organization, and a new world like Sleeping Beauty which is going to be awesome.

ya i agree with ace diamonds. if square enix has a brain in there head they waste a game like kh3 (birth by sleep) onto a psp when they know they would b billionaires if they put it on ps3 or xbox 360. my guess is kh3 will come out in fall of ‘09 because it took 3 yrs for kh2 to come out from when kh came out

Wasn’t it 4 Years? I think Kingdom Hearts was released in 2002 and Kingdom Hearts was released 4 Years Later. If that’s right then, Kingdom Hearts 3 won’t be out until 2009-2010. Yikes! That’s a long time. Well, there is one good side, the PS3 prices will be low by then. I only want it for Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XIII, and Call of Duty 4.

All of these games are awesome. But its not like you have to buy them all if you don’t want to.I don’t have a PSP so a friend of mine is just going to lend me the game. In exchange im gonna give him 358?2 days for DS.
DS multiplayer is gonna be awesome. To me if there was ever a problem with kingdom hearts it would be the NPC allies. but now its all fixed.
However everione is going to be mad because they are all going to want to play with Roxas and Axel. I personaly want to use Saix i just love his weapon.

I agree with ace of diamonds. Birth by Sleep is the intro to the 3 new characters. And KH3 is the next part. I already own a DS and a PSP so i’m getting them both ^_^.

No, actually they would make the most money this way. DS and PSP sales combined are almost 70mil, and Wii, 360, and PS3 put together is only like 26mil. The only thing I’m worried about is Coded, since it might be Japan only and its about King Mickey, who as you may guess is my favorite character.

Xehonarts cohort just might be a duplicate of Ven, because there’s a scene where Xehonart’s talking to Ven, he does this magic attack thing, Ven looks scared, then the Cohort appears. But in the secret movie, he does it differently. Another reason is because he looks like a kid, not the same shape as Xehonart, almost the same as Riku when he’s in dark armour.

According to Nomura, the XIV member isn’t Namine. It’s possible that she’s Aqua/girl from birth by sleep. Perhaps she was able to tell Roxas who he really was and became a threat to the rest of the organization. Xemnas must have finished her because of that. After finding bits from her, Roxas may have left to find out the truth about himself knowing that the organization was hiding something from him.
As for birth by sleep, there are apparently four apprentices. Master Xenahort has one, who wears the dark suit & helmet. The other three are Terra, Ven, and Aqua, who have a different master. Perhaps Terra is arguing with Xenahort about his apprentices path to the darkness. Maybe the Xemnas in KHII was that dark soldier, but when he met Ansem, he thought he was Xenahort. Just like his heartless took the name of Ansem. (Keeps taking his next master’s name?)
Also Mickey may not have been the King through Nomura’s hints. Perhaps he was the only survivor of keyblade war. When Terra is on the shore of destiny islands, is it Riku and Sora? I’ve theorized this before, perhaps Terra, Ven, and Aqua passed on their abilities/apprenticed Sora, Riku, and Kairi. The nobodies that Roxas, Namine, and Axel resemble the ironclad soldiers. Maybe the nobodies were spirits of the warriors that were within Sora, Riku, and Kairi. And they were reborn again only without their memories. Nomura says that Ven’s story will bridge the gap between Sora, Roxas, and himself.

Did anyone REALLY expect for the next game announcement to be KH3 when KH2’s only been out for two years. I’m expecting these titles to come out next year, or early 2009. I’m gonna like the games! Especially playing as all 13 Org. XIII members in 358/2 days. (I read somewhere that it’s pronounced 358 over 2 days). I’m really gonna like beating my friends in multiplayer. I know that BBS will be better, but I still like the DS game.
