At the Tokyo Game Show 2008 we learned that Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days will be released in February of 2009. Square Enix North America recently released a list of games that will be released during Q1, or “First Quarter”, and Days did not make the cut. (Pardon my pun)
This is not shocking news, nor is it groundbreaking, due to the fact that since Days’ release date in Japan is during the first quarter and because time is required to make the translations, advertise, and localize the game before it is released.
Q1 lasts from January to the end of March so it seems logical that Days may not get a NA release date until the end of Q2 (April through June) or even into Q3.

The Official Kingdom Hearts Coded website from Square Enix Japan was updated today. The site features which phone models it is compatible with and information on it’s preinstalled state. Keep in mind this is for the Japanese release only, as soon as there is news about a North American release, we will let you know.

NTT docomo PRIME series “P-01A” phones releasing after November 2008 will come with it preinstalled.

ABOUT THE PREINSTALL - PAGE 2

The preinstalled version contains the feature “Olympus Coliseum –Side Episode-“. By upgrading it, the various functions of this feature can be newly enjoyed. The other feature, “Traverse Town –Special Edit Version-“, contains a collection of particular cutscenes from the Kingdom Hearts series.

Additionally, the high spec computer functions have been utilized and the action elements, cutscenes, and other attributes unique to Kingdom Hearts return. Be the first to receive and enjoy this distributed title!

The episodes of Kingdom Hearts Coded as well as the main content of Kingdom Hearts Mobile will be distributed through the Kingdom Hearts series mobile phone portal site once it is opened. The plan is to begin distributing these titles next spring.

Thanks to bittermeats at Kingdom Hearts Insider we now have translations for the screen shots that Square Enix released.

Gamekyo has updated their site with some screen shots released by Square-Enix. Screens from 358/2 Days were released in the Nintendo DS secton of Shonen Jump and the screens for Birth By Sleep were shown in the Chinese edition of Famitsu. There was a rumor going around that the position for Naminé’s voice was up for grabs. It is now official that Meaghan Jette Martin will be her voice; she is replacing Brittany Snow, who was Naminé’s original voice. Meaghan appeared on the DIsney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock” as “Tess”. No reason has been released as to why Naminé’s voice was recasted, but this is not the first time that something like this has happened; “Ansem”/Xehanort was voiced by Billy Zane but is now voiced by Richard Epcar.

Whether or not Meaghan will voice Naminé in 358/2 Days or any other Kingdom Hearts game is unknown at this time.

Rumors about Tara Platt being the voice actor for Larxene has been trumped when she had this to say:

Sorry I am not in Kingdom Hearts. But it is a great game series!
