Nomura Discusses 358/2 Days And DSi

At last the limited edition Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days design is revealed!The Nintendo DS title Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is set to release May 30th. The special edition Nintendo DSi with the unique design will also be released then. It has a chic design where icons symbolizing the game are arranged in the shape of a monogram on the DSi’s top.The finished design is both appealing and adult-like, it doesn’t really look like a game console at all.

――Did you do the main design?
Nomura: Yes. I was often being asked, “Will you design it for girls?”, but inevitably I designed it myself. The special characteristics of Kingdom Hearts titles were top priority, though of course staying conscious of the female fans, details like the main DSi body were made chic so that boys and adults wouldn’t feel out of place with it. I think since the rare monogram designs of the game are seen as fashionable, not only girls but guys will also want it.

Changing the word ’source’ to ‘translation’ isn’t enough, please change the phrase ‘ffshores scanned and translated’ to ‘ffshores scanned and heartstation.org translated’ or something.

Does anyone know if this special DSi will be coming out in America? I was planning to get a DSi, But Now I’m not sure if I should get it now or wait for this bundle to come in america.

I would assume once 358/2 comes out in America it will be highly probable that the special DSi comes here as well due to the popularity of KH, but with our luck who knows lol

I’m hoping it does end up on the PS2 or PS3 like Re: CoM Tehleetone cause I don’t want to spend 170 dollars on a DSi atm…unless of course 358/2 turns out to be good enough to not just read the storyline lol

Is Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days getting a European (uk) release? It seems like so far none of the new three games have any intention of being sold in Europe.

@matty-o its gonna be released in Europe along with KH BBS, but so far the worldwide public is interested in Japanese releases and N.A. releases. On average from the games I’ve bought, handheld games from Japan take about three or four months to get to N.A. and then add an extra two-three months guarantees a 6-7 month waiting period. It mostly depends on shipping, not just the english dubbing, german and french dubbing, etc.

Sorry to say but I would guess you were misinformed cause FFXIII isn’t even out yet and neither are 358/2 and BBS. KH3 couldn’t possibly be so far along without anyone knowing about it (leaks, trailers, website, etc.).

True that, although Nomura did say of course he IS making a future game based with what we’ll find out in BBS, 358/2 days, and Coded. Likely I would expect this game (KH3) in late 2010 to early 2011 worldwide assuming that Nomura immediately announces it at either TGS 2009 or Jump Festa 2010. If not then give or take half a year later than what I just said.

The way game production is going with all the games that I’m waiting to come out that would be a lot sooner than I’d expect even lol. Month and a half to the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum and they push the release back to September xD

it’s all speculation on my part, but I made that guess since let’s face it, BBS will be released this year for Japan, we just don’t have a date, 358/2 days is coming out in 25 days (let it be known I just started the countdown!!! lol), and apparently there’s supposed to be a better mobile phone model coming out with Coded in full form on it (not just the beginning episodes with Traverse Town and Olympus Coliseum)in the latter half of 2009 (give or take late 2009). Ya never know.

one question. anyone please feel free to help me out. if they do make a KH3(which i heard it is still up in the air), will we have to play KH coded, 358/2, birth by sleep and all of the other games for it to make sense? i really hope not, because they all come out for different devices. and i only have PS2, wii, and X-box 360 :S please help!!

kairi: i doubt you would have to play the side games (such as coded, bbs, 358/2) to really understand kh3. i doubt it because i really dunno if thats the case. and because they come out in different consoles and portables, they make it so u dont haveta play those games. but i would b prepared just in case.
