The official North American Square-Enix site has been updated with information about the Japanese versions of the 3 upcoming games:
Square Enix, Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan, Square Enix), a leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software and services, announced three new titles in the award-winning KINGDOM HEARTS series at the Tokyo Game Show 2007 held in Makuhari Messe. The new titles are KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days for the Nintendo DS™, KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, and KINGDOM HEARTS coded for mobile phones. These titles are currently only confirmed for release in Japan. Release in other territories will be determined at a later date.
KINGDOM HEARTS is a fresh and original series of role-playing games created by the collaboration of The Walt Disney Company’s game development affiliate, Disney Interactive Studios, and Square Enix. The first installment, released in 2002, has been followed up by two chart-topping sequels. The immense popularity of the series has earned worldwide shipments of over 11 million copies in only five and a half years.

This is total madness why are they doing this they are ruining all Kingdom Hearts game!!! I know what will happen next they will create MORPG of Kingdom HEarts and create whole universe of Keyblade masters and then Sora, Riku and Kairi will be only a legend and that is not right they do that to everything…
for example Digimon Adventures….there was 8 chosen kids and after every kid have digital monster (Digimon Tamers..) and those 8 were legends. The same is with Yu-Gi-Oh!…..after original Yu-Gi-Oh! came Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and they ruined whole plot.

Like I have said before, all of you who think that Kingdom Hearts should just be on the PS2 are ignorant. You either don’t realize how the gaming world works or just refuse to except it. The only reason you these things is because you don’t have a PS3 or PSP and can’t buy one at this time, big deal. I don’t have a DS and I’m really not that concerned about not playing 358/2 because I have solved that problem. I’m not going to buy a DS, but merely play the game another way. You complain about these changes because you can’t get a hold of the other systems. Stop complaining and figure out a way to solve the problem. Even if they are only released in Japan I already know what I’m going to do.

I have a theory on the title for 358/2. the 358 could be for Roxas’ time of existence. Remember that Sora slept for one year, which is 365 days. Roxas’ story in KH2 lasted six days before he rejoined with Sora, which would bring the number of days down to 359. To bring it one day lower you could imagine it would be either his “birth day” or the day he was placed into the digital Twilight Town. Since the story is going to focus on Roxas’ time with the organization it would have lasted 358 days.
I can’t come up with anything for the “/2″ in the title other than that the story will also primarily focus on another beloved character that has passed on, Axel.
Anyone else have ideas, please spit ‘em out.

Well Tazimus you are totaly right that I refuse to except new games because I can’t buy other consoles but not only that. I already said they are going to ruin Kingdom Hearts. They should release only one game because if they continue like this, Kingdom HEarts will never be the same! Before they are concerning about only one game, sequel of past one (even KH: CoM-and I don’t have nothing against it even I can’t play it), and now they have 3 stories totaly diferent and most diferent is Birth By Sleep. Well I thaught 3 knights have some relations with old chars (I already used bad word “OLD”-even I must use that word) but that girl Aqua and that guy with dark hair (I always confuse is he Ven or Terra sorry) don’t have any relations they are totaly new keyblade masters and that is whatI am talking about. And what about Disney? They will ruin even that. Disney should follow only sequels. And what is Ariel gonna do in Kingdom Hearts 3? She will ask Sora to get lunch for her because she hurted her leg? And Aladdin will learn how to dance? Oh come on!

hmm the idea of a KH-MMO (comment no.4)wouldn’t be that bad. if it is action based and not like wow (felt 3 minutes per monster). but i don think that would happen tho. Coded should cover the King’s story during the events of KH and KH2. you’ll just play the game as a digial version of Sora. This is most likely done because everybody wants to play as Sora and they want the continuation of his story.
I’m kinda disapointed that you don’t get to play as the king. His in game mechanics in KH2 when you control him are really cool, even though they are very basic.

What a tragedy. 3 new handheld KH titles and no mention at all of KH3?? Come on Square, get with the program–quit selling off all these crap games and holding off on the ones people really want to play. Really, who the heck would rather be playing these games on a DS than on a PS2 or even a PS3? I’m not much of a fan of Square at the moment. Guess I’ll just have to wait to play FFXIII to get another noteworthy game from Square.

come on, the only square game released for a nintendo console (not counting the advace ports) was crystal chronicals. ever since VII was not allowed for n64 square and nintendo have been at odds. (it apparently had to do with cids swearing along w/ a few other things)

Well,I went on Youtube today and it had a lot of KH3 stuff on there,including a cut scene with Terra from KH2.I suspect that the “How things happened” storys aka side storys (hand held) will NOT come out all at once.But there is a possibility that they may come out in the same month,though I personally think 1 will come out every 2 months.Becuase the KH1 game took me 2 years to beat,becuase I was young then,I think I was in third grade then,I am a teenager now,and I lost track of what year and month KH first came out,but I DO know that KHChain came out about 2 years later,or a year and 1/2.But I think that Coded may be first,or last to come out in this KH generation.
There is a possibility I am wrong,only the CEO of KH knows(The creator).

Well KH3 won’t even be started until FFvsXIII is finished, and it is now scheduled to release in 2009!!!!! Square’s getting a bit slow, eh? So expect KH3 around 2011, no joke. The KH team that made KH1 and KH2 are currently making FFvsXIII, including Nomura.

The US just gets some games faster, because it’s a big country with lots of big spenders. Anyways, the UK is just about as far away from Japan as the US is… And besides, it’s the INTERNET. if kh3 is going to be as big as all this writing glorifiesthey shouldnt restrict it to the damn ps3. It isnt fair to the people that have waited all this time hoping it will be for ps2 as well and the ps2 isnt that old to just make it for the ps3. I mean come on programing that game can’t be that hard to make it for both.

Actually it would be that hard. They would have down grade the graphics alot, and I mean alot. Out of the 6th gen systems the PS2 had the second to worst graphics, the Dream Cast having the worst. Out of the 7th gen systems the PS3 has the best. Not mention the fact that the PS3 work off a Blu-Ray DVD drive. That’s the first thing that comes to mind. If I actually thought it through I could probably think of 20 different reasons why it would take forever for them to release it both for the PS2 and the PS3. I mean there are major differences between the two systems. Like the fact that the PS3’s controller has some motion sensing capabilities like the Wii. There is not telling how they may incorporate that into the game. It wouldn’t be good for Square to make it for both systems. So they are probably only going to make it for the PS3.

If he did become a heartless wouldn’t he have ACTUALLY become a heartless much like Sora did. And I believe Nomura has already stated in an interview that he never became a heartless, so once again no nobody.

Another thing would be that Riku does not have a nobody because he never died or transformed into a heartless, and he is just liek Pete where he has the ability to control the heartless! Learn the story plot before you make false assumptions.
