Here’s a good start for the weekend! The Re: Coded site has updated with a new video. It features Sora bustin’ up a few heartless. Check out those moves!

In addition to that, CVG has released some new screenshots for Birth by Sleep. And by some I mean a whopping 19 new screenshots! These screenshots seem to be centered around Enchanted Dominion, the world for Sleeping Beauty. You can also see Terra, Aqua, and Ven showing off there D-Link skills, an ability new to the kingdom hearts series! Here’s a little sample of what’s there.

Degenki Birth By Sleep Interview

I swear, news is falling from the sky. For months on end, no one knew nothing about upcoming Kingdom Hearts titles. But now, news is coming out the Ying Yang, Square must love us. But anyway back on topic. According to Japanese magazine, Degenki, Nomura announced changes that will be present in the North American version of Birth By Sleep. Basically, this is what the interview covered:

After defeating a certain person, the gamer will be able to use that character’s keyblade.

Instead of having a secret movie on Birth By Sleep, it covers Re:Coded.

Spells like Mega Flare and other powerful maneuvers and attack moves damage potential will be lowered to increase difficulty.

Nomura even commented on the new secret boss that will be waiting for players pummel into the ground.

“The new secret boss will be like how Lingering Sentiment was to KH2FM. You will think it’s impossible that that can happen at that time of the story, but it actually happens.”

Hmmm there’s a certain mysterious air about this new ‘Super Special Secret Boss.’ But sadly, we’ll have to wait to unearth the boss’s identity. Shouldn’t be too long though, Birth By Sleep hits North American shores in September. So hang in there!

A Message from the Kingdom

Holy unstoppable updates batman, looks like we’ve got another juicy burst for you all to enjoy yes? Hopefully you get a kick out of the fact that we have a A Message from the Kingdom that personally alerts us to the opening of the brand-new Re:Coded Official Site which is now ready for perusing faithful ones. The translation is given below and really I can’t help but feel a tiny twinge of surprise at the fact that this latest title is piquing my interest in more ways than one. I truly hope it’s something worth waiting for, something worth speculating over, because quite frankly this series has more sidequests than a all-night D&D session. Wow, that wasn’t a nerdy reference at all…Anyway, as always we’ll keep you posted so please stay tuned!

Hello everyone.
We have opened the site for the latest installment of the Kingdom Hearts series, “Kingdom Hearts RE:Coded”! This time the website is a bit different than we usually make them. I hope you like it, so check it out.

And it seems a new message has arrived to the memo…

Look forward to the next updates!

Crown Stickers and Games of Summer

North Americans are getting new features in Birth By Sleep, and one of those features have been revealed: Crown stickers! Crown stickers are going to be similar to the crown rewards in Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+.
Crown Stickers will be often placed in stages so players can see them, but have to take another path or route to get them. Expect platforming-esque challenges from this new system. If you’re up for a challenge you’ll get some kind of reward. What kind of reward this will be is being kept a secret by Square.

In other news, Birth By Sleep is one of the top games of summer 2010!

Why It’s Hot:
What do you get when you combine Square-Enix’s unique brand of Japanese role-playing with Disney’s iconic locations and characters? You get another massive hit, that’s what. Already enjoying great reviews and sales in Japan, this prequel to the first Kingdom Hearts game introduces new gameplay, new characters, and a new reason for Disney fans to dust off the PSP.

Why It’s Not:
Just because it’s got Mickey doesn’t mean it’s accessible. Birth by Sleep is still very much a Kingdom Hearts game; if you don’t dig the nuts and bolts of Japanese RPGs, you’re going to have a hard time
getting into it.

Did You Know?
It’s really big. Worldwide, the Kingdom Hearts series has outsold franchises like Dance Dance Revolution, Gears of War, and Mario Kart.
