RE: CoM Cast Update
There was a rumor going around that the position for Naminé’s voice was up for grabs. It is now official that Meaghan Jette Martin will be her voice; she is replacing Brittany Snow, who was Naminé’s original voice. Meaghan appeared on the DIsney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock” as “Tess”. No reason has been released as to why Naminé’s voice was recasted, but this is not the first time that something like this has happened; “Ansem”/Xehanort was voiced by Billy Zane but is now voiced by Richard Epcar.
Whether or not Meaghan will voice Naminé in 358/2 Days or any other Kingdom Hearts game is unknown at this time.
Rumors about Tara Platt being the voice actor for Larxene has been trumped when she had this to say:
Sorry I am not in Kingdom Hearts. But it is a great game series!

Britney Snow and Billy Zane are busy doing a movie that will come out in winter 2009 so thats why they can’t voice Namine and Ansem I hope Britney Snow continues in Kingdom Hearts 3 I like her better

I guess it all depends on how much different the voice is from the other games. I could of sworn Sora was voiced by a different person in KH2 at first. Then there was Aerith who sounded completely different/dumb…and Cid who sounded retarded in KH2. Just so Namine isn’t like that.

Well Sora is supposed to be something like 15 or 16 in CoM I think and in KH3 he’ll probably be around 18 or so is my guess so Haley Joel Osment isn’t that bad of age for him. The actors in Harry Potter are 3 or 4 years older than their rolls and you actually see them lol.

this is idiotic. they keep changing the vioce actors making me hate the characters, just like they did with Aerith. i’m upset! grrr… ah well, at least Axel is still the same. i mean now i dont have to hate him. not that im one of those obsessed girls that love him. not saying om not a girl… well in any case WHAT EVER!

Tis the life of acting my good man. Sometimes stuff happens. when I was like 13 or fourteen at the time, 4kids lost the rights to pokemon and all and that got me pretty upset when they recast Ash, Brock, Team Rocket and whatnot. Unfortunately as it was said here, it’s only business so in the end whatever pays the bills I guess…

I still wish Brittney Snow could’ve been Namine’s voice actress, but at least Haly Joel Osment and David Gallagher are returning as my two favorite KH guys Sora and Riku!
