Scenario Mysteries Interview

TheWertle has struck again! This time with an excellent interview with Tetsuya Nomura from Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ Ultimania called “Scenario Mysteries”, in which he confirms the Enigmatic Soldier’s name as Terra!

In Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, many mysteries are answered but many new mysteries are also born.

In this version, things relating to additional scenes are included, but during the story there are some questions that pop up, so we’ll see if Nomura can point us in the right direction.

Question: In the original Kingdom Hearts, the King searches for a Keyblade in the Realm of Darkness, but when he meets Ansem the Wise, is the Realm of Light Keyblade he has the one that Sora is currently using?

Nomura: No. The King has the ability to use Keyblades from both the Realms of Darkness and of Light. This is an important point - There isn’t just one Keyblade from each world, but just as many as there are people with qualified hearts.

Question: During the meetings, the members of Organization XIII are sitting in chairs. Is the height of these chairs determined by things like their skills and abilities?

Nomura: No. The height of the chairs is not fixated - They move. That is to say that the height is up to each person. The leader, Xemnas, is always the highest, and to be at the same height as him would give that member a pretty bad feeling, so the other members wouldn’t do that. *Laughs*

Question: At the end of Sora and Riku’s stories in Re: Chain of Memories, Roxas looks back while Hayner and the rest are walking and eating ice-cream, and without seeming to care, Hayner and the others continue walking. Is this because they can’t see Roxas?

Nomura: Well it’s just because they don’t know Roxas that they don’t notice him, not because they can’t see him. At that time, right after Xemnas explains Roxas’ name, Axel says to leave things to him. Then, Roxas seems jealous of how Hayner and the others are enjoying themselves while eating ice-cream, and Axel interprets this as him wanting some ice-cream, so he is obliged to go buy him some.

Question: In the real Twilight Town, didn’t Roxas cross paths with Hayner and the others and make aquaintances with them?

Nomura: I suppose. You can think whatever you want about that.

Question: What triggered Roxas’ separation from the Organization?

Nomura: As he kept having recurring dreams of Sora, someone he didn’t know, he felt he needed to leave the Organization to find out who these people he didn’t know were. As Axel didn’t want him to go, he didn’t tell Sora about Roxas in Castle Oblivion, did he?

Question: In Riku’s ending in Re: Chain of Memories, could you tell us the meaning of the scene where the King and Riku are walking together and Riku suddenly plops down.

Nomura: That’s because Riku realized he couldn’t completely get rid of the Darkness inside of him. The King mentioned in Kingdom Hearts II that as Riku held Xehanort’s Heartless in his heart, he disappeared from the King’s sight. It’s a sort of foreshadowing. In this scene, the King’s face looks worried for a moment because he felt that Riku might eventually no longer be there. Riku headed towards DiZ in order to restore Sora’s memories to normal, but in the end, his departure from the King was so that he wouldn’t show his preparations to use the Darkness.

Question: Could you tell us at what point Riku covered his eyes?

Nomura: When he departed from the King. You don’t know after the scene, but in Riku’s ending in Re: Chain of Memories, when he comes to wherever DiZ is, he’s already covered his eyes.

Question: Please confirm some things about Castle Oblivion. In the additional event “The Truth about the Chamber of Sleep”, you can gather from Xigbar and Zexion’s conversation that Castle Oblivion existed in the Inbetween Realm before the birth of the Organization. The Organization then found it and used it for experiments about memories and to look for the Chamber of Awakening, right?

Nomura: Yes. Since their conversation was about Marluxia’s entry, they discovered the Castle before that. In fact, its use, according to Secret Ansem Report 7, was for only 13 Organization Members. Naminé awoke in Castle Oblivion, but as she and Roxas were born at the same time, half of the Organization moved to the Castle.

Question: In the additional event “To Put an End to Everything”, Sora says “It should have been easy to say thanks to Naminé, but I couldn’t say it”. At this point in time, does Sora remember the things that happened with Naminé?

Nomura: If he remembers, it’s because Naminé’s existence was made possible by Sora, and when Naminé and Roxas return to Kairi and Sora, many things were connected. Since Sora never got to say thanks to Naminé, please think of that as a hint.

Question: In the additional event “Farewell to a Friend”, there’s a scene where Axel tells Roxas “You really do have a heart, don’t you”. What is the actual case here?

Nomura: In this scene, it ends bringing up more mysteries about Roxas, so for the answer, maybe take care to follow your hunches well. It’s also related to Xehanort’s memories, but I can’t give any specifics now.

Question: We’d like to inquire about the new secret movie “Birth By Sleep”. In the new event “The Truth about the Chamber of Sleep”, Xigbar mentions a “group that wields Keyblades”. Is he talking about the 3 armored people in the movie?

Nomura: Yes, Xigbar witnessed them when he was a disciple to Ansem the Wise.

Question: The Lingering Sentiment (Enigmatic Soldier) is the same as the armored youth in the movie, but when he fights Sora he mentions “Aqua” and “Ven”. Are those the names of the other 2?

Nomura: Yes, the blue haired girl is Aqua.

Question: What is the armored youth’s name?

Nomura: His name appeared once in code in the 2006 Tokyo Game Show Promotional Video. Also, Ven is actually a nickname, but his real name is a little bit longer. Sora, Riku, and Kairi’s names can be seen as “Sky, Land, and Sea” respectively. The 3 armored people’s names take the shape of different properties of the world, “Water, Wind, and Earth”.

Statement: Ven looks an awful lot like Roxas…

Nomura: I can’t give any specifics about that. He may just resemble him, and if there is a connection, Sora may be related too. What I can say right now is that these mysteries are all connected to the story.

Question: In the beginning, the armored youth’s eyes are blue, but at the end they change to gold. Is this revealing a change in him?

Nomura: I can’t give specifics about this either… I think everyone’s imaginations are pretty capable so please try and anticipate a lot of things.

   Well the Bald Man is an all new character just as the Dark soldier is i believe that he cant exactly be Xehanort nor Terra being exactly Xehanort.

   Whatever Xehanorts name is whether it is Xehanort or Thonare or something entirely different he has been going after and passing himself on to other chosen keyblade wielders,we notice the similarity with Soul Eater being similar to those of the bald guys keyblade and Dark soldier i see that the reason Rikus Soul Eater was not a real keyblade because Ansem did not have a heart due to the fact that the heart for some reason went somewhere else when he had taken that form,Its because the bald guys new form heartless made through Terra and since he had used someone elses heart to do so in being reborn he had the heart passed on to Roxas hwom is actually Vens Spirit and that Vens Heartless and or Heart is somewhere else.
   So since Riku got the Way to The Dawn somehow Vens heart was passed through Riku after he got his form back or something it seems i also havent forgotten about Axel.

   Before i get to Axel i believe Terra cannot be a spirit and only spirit as in a nobody he had his other keyblade with him.

   Axel has somewhat a resemblence with Terra,Riku and his own former self the fourth supposed knight hwo was Vens best friend it seems like Axels nobody was made say hwo knows when but it seems like he may have passed his keyblade already to someone when he became a nobody his keyblade had to go somewhere it could have just went back within his heart of his heartless where his heart seemed to be.

   I notice a resemblence of him with Riku i would say possible relation i am actually not sure what to say about Riku and Axels looks they may have crossed paths in their journeys is all i can say about a connection with Riku and Axel.

   In KH2 why doesnt Axel tell Sora about Roxas? Shouldnt Sora be able to see his Nobody insted of having to fight him in that one part of the game?

   This is just what i think,i think its because he thought he already knew about him or there was a reason he didnt want him to know about him.
   Axel had no idea that when Sora awakened Roxas would not have returned to him Roxas was Ven reborn through Sora,Roxas used keyblades and you need a heart to do that so Roxas was originally made just as Vens spirit but everyones spirits and heart got all mixed up and Ven got someone elses heart but had his own spirit.

    Aqua isn’t dead, she’s presumed to be. Nobody really knows quite what happened. I’m not too high on Aqua as Kairi’s Grandmother. We already saw her in a cutscene in Kingdom Hearts 1. Kairi is kinda like Aqua’s successor. Like Terra originally passed the Kingdom Key to Riku, Ven had chosen Sora to weild Way to Dawn, and Aqua chose Kairi to weild the Inverse Kingdom Key, but as we can see, all that didn’t go according to plan. All in all, besides their names relating to Earth Elements, there has to be some other connection between Terra, Aqua, Ven, Sora, Riku, and Kairi. People think that Aqua, or what’s left of her is in an Underground Laboratory in Radiant Garden. Note that all this was before Kingdom Hearts. Xehanort had seprarated into a Heartless and Nobody long before Sora’s Journey began. I’m still confused about this too, but to be quite honest, making your own theories is better than pacing around waiting for new information.

    Yeah like the character Terra from Teen Titans, but since Terra also mean Earth, it’d be a proper name for the guy in connection to Riku which means Land.

    I guess since no new information has surfaced yet. It has been quiet around here. I haven’t had much to say, and I ran out theories. To be quite honest, I’ve looked through every loophole and can’t think of anything else. I can’t make a valid theory now unless I hear the new infromation that’ll be released in September.     I agree with Ace of Diamonds. I think we’re getting quite close to solving the mysteries.

    You know what? Sora/Sky, Riku/Land and Kairi/Sea. Look at Terra/Earth, Aqua/Water and Ven/Wind’s names.

    The Wind can be felt in the sky so Ven might be related to Sora and probably Roxas. The Land is connected with the Earth or the other way round so Riku might be connected with Terra. And last but not least, Water is felt in the Sea so Kairi and Aqua might be connected. ALL CONNECTED IN SOME WAYS WHICH I CAN’T EXPLAIN. Feel free to give more theories of your own.

    Terra, Aqua and Ven all should be around right before Sora, Riku and Kairi. And we see the Crossroad of where the Keyblade Grave is located. Castle Oblivion was probably built some time after the events of Kingdom Hearts/Final Mix by Namine I supposed?

    Aqua was probably dead but it is not confirmed yet. Probably she is or whatever was left of her is in the basement of the Radiant Garden. And again, she might not be there, instead, she might be out hiding until the time has come for her to show herself again. Ven probably experienced the same thing. Terra was actually not meant to show up until they decided to add in an interesting storyline so they added him into Kingdom Hearts II/Final Mix. Terra might be seeking revenge on Xehanort as it was impossible to fight Xehanort then fight Terra so Xehanort probably was not defeated yet at that time. The old man without any hair should be Xehanort and it seems he can create some sort of a Replica but I’m not sure whether it is his Replica or not. Xemnas has Silver Hair and the Heartless as well.

    So I think it comes to say that Xehanort is still out there because that was just Xehanort’s Nobody that was destroyed. His Heartless was destroyed first. Maybe and I mean maybe we might have new features like we can choose between Sora and Riku to fight or maybe between Terra, Aqua and Ven or just Terra or as usual, just Sora to fight. And also, maybe either Sora or Terra will destroy Xehanort once and for all.

    These are just theories, not the right answers.

    I don’t think The Old Man could be Xehanort. In Kingdom Hearts 2, Xehanort looked to be in his late teens and early 20s, so that means around the time of the Keyblade War, he would’ve been the age Sora was when his adventure started. I honestly have no clue what connection The Old Man has to this story. The only theory I have in my head is that The Old Man maniplulated Xehanort into choosing the path of Darkness and turning on his friends. The rest is up in the air for me.

    I also don’t get the Earth Elements connection between Sora/Ven, Riku/Terra, Kairi/Aqua. I do understand however the Keyblade story between the 6 of them. It would take quite a while to explain, but if you’ve been on here as long as Shadow and I have, you’d know.

    Sora will be the Main Character of Kingdom Hearts 3. Kingdom Hearts 3 won’t be out for quite a while, but the sidestory they’re making will explain the whole Terra/Aqua/Ven situation.

    If I remember, didn’t Organization XIII build Castle Oblivion? I don’t know much about Castle Oblivion.

    Xehanort is still out there. Remember, Sora and Xehanort are the only people to regain their Human Form after becoming a Heartless and a Nobody. I don’t have anything new at the moment. Hopefully, we’ll have some new information to work with later this month. If a theory does pop up in my head, I’ll be sure to post it on here.

    When all Organization 13 is sitting in those white chairs the camra pans that they sit in a different order than their orignal number order of when they joined. Do they decide of which chairs they sit at?

    Who sits by who? And is the meeting room go in a complete circle around them? It just seems that way everytime I look at the flash back in the game. I am curious about this and find it interesting.

    Theory:When the keyblade war happened it was about nine years ago the same time Xehanort showed up and did studies on the darkness and the heart as anapprentice to Ansem the Wise which i believe him to be as Kairis grandfather,Before Xehanort had shown up in Radiant Garden,The Bald Man hwo was taken control over by the darkness by the temptation that Xehanort had offered with the darkness,He possessed the bald man.

    The bald man was known as a master to the three until then.
    After the attack of heartless just as Xehanort showed up three years later when Kairi became eight she was sent off to destiny islands and Xehanort taking the name Ansem the name of his master he was unknowing what name to take.
    The six apprentices were taken by the darkness and got their weapons found in the dark realm but yet at the same time were defeated and killed by a heartless that seemed to be either the D.S. or someone completely different,Sora was told to be the second to become a heartless and live meaning Sora and someone else lived after becoming a heartless.
    When the darkness was put into Soras heart from sealing the portal with the dark key possessed Riku used,Sora became a heartless and the light returned to the princesses and Sora became a heartless having Vens soul sealed within his keyblade Vens body turned into Roxas with the simulated feelings of Sora.
    The bald man used half of Vens heart the darkness and he only simulated it and casted the bald mans real heart into kingdom hearts and opened all the darkness contained in kh setting them upon worlds and yet that wasnt enough he possessed Terra and Terra ended up with a nobody(Xehanort) he gave him half simulated hearts he made him except he was just a replica combined with the bald man and then the D.S. took his form when he went into the Dark realm.
    Ven was resting in the Castle Oblivion and was found,and Riku working with Ansem the Wise hwo they met up with in the dark realm to capture Roxas and get his memories back Ansem the Wise had somehow have possessed Ansem form(D.S.) Which was actually just a new form of Xehanort but he was defeated and the D.S. had darker skin to make the skin tones and then Ansem the Wise somehow was in that form undercover and he could change back similar to the way Riku changed back,It may seem that Master Xehanort and Master Ansem are being acted as seperate now maybe Ansem the Wise knew the bald man,from the looks of things he may have.

    Aqua was sealed away but is now awakened and the room of sleep still contains the org. bodies,well heartless.
    Xehanort is just an anagram of another and can be no heart Xemnas is found as unknown for his lack of heart or feeling he had his memories somehow returned and was defeated and the memory was sealed back to Terra an Xemnas also within him.

    Okay the theory isnt done yet im just going to ask if i explained anything bad or if theres any questions?

    Anyways Sephiroths story wasnt completed the story he is to have in kh would be his kh part of the story and he would have more of one in the final fantasies but it seems that in kh3 he will have a big part i think he is going to help the villain in someway for his own purposes such as making a deal or just waiting to turn on him,Cause he wanted a keyblade and it seems like some of his story is going to come in kh.
    You know his story and clouds havent been finished yet.

    Well, I wouldn’t say Sephiroth would be a Main Character. I don’t think Nomura will let a Final Fantasy Character be one of the the Main Villains in a Disney Based Game. I said this a while ago. I was thinking mabye instead of Sephiroth’s Cameo Apperance, Sora and The Gang could travel to Cloud’s Homeworld in Advent Children and fight Sephiroth side by side with Cloud and beat once and for all. I would like to also fight Kadaj too. He looks like he’d be one hell of a challenge. Sephiroth wanted the Keyblade, but then again who didn’t. Besides, I guess it just gave Sephiroth a reason to fight you since there is Coliseum Tournaments, just Underworld Tournaments.

    Now, the Xemnas/Xehanort story is a bit complicated. We know that Xehanort appeared after the Keyblade War, but we don’t know how long after it he appeared. Xehanort was working as Ansem’s Apprentice. So, Ansem’s Experiments on Darkness of the Heart triggered states in Xehanort’s Mind. When Ansem saw it was going too far, he ceased the experiments. Xehanort and Ansem’s Other Apprentices didn’t abide by Ansem’s Rules. I guess one of the experiments released inhibitions within Xehanort and The Darkness had completely taken over his being. He banished Ansem to The Dark Realm and destroyed Radiant Garden, and they all left. Xehanort was turned into a Heartless and the shell he left behind became a nobody. How he still has a Human Form, I don’t know.

    As far as the Three Knights are concerned. Ven was frozen alive. This is not the type of thing where you thaw out in a few hours. The Old Man used a strong magic to freeze Ven and ensure that he would die in a matter of moments. I’ll get to Aqua in a moment. Now, Terra is like Riku. A strong being of Darkness whose body is consumed by so much Darkness, they need another’s body to regenerate strength. Like Ansem took over Riku’s Body, Xehanort’s Heart was consumed with Darkness and needed a new body for the time being. Now, if Terra died, he’d die too. Remember when Riku transformed into Ansem to fight Roxas? The Darkness in Terra’s Heart took over and made him do unspeakable things. Like almost kill Aqua. It would explain why she’s in the Radiant Garden Basement Recuperating. When Xehanort was at full strength, he cast Terra away to The Gathering Place since he had no further no use for him.

    Ace of Diamonds:Well come to think of it i think Nomura said they will only put worlds that disney own for example disney owns radiant garden and destiny islands,even Sora,Riku and Kairi theyre their characters and worlds not se but hwo knows maybe theyll try a world for ff but i doubt it.

    Also,i just thought of this,maybe Ansem was created the way Roxas was of Sora like simulated feelings except When Xehanort was made thats what happened with Terra and then when Xehanort came into play in the dark realm the other apprentices and the rest of the org. were confirmed killed by a heartless or they were made the same way as Roxas,Xemnas was just an extra body a replica nobody of Terra making him sort of a Dis-soul it was the same body of Xehanort but his spirit was combined throught connection of the heart and mind,and Xemnas description in jiminies journal was mysterious wielder of the dark,Is there any Questions?

    I was asking if you know which organization 13 members during their meeting with the chair sequence sits next to who?

    From the flashback in Kingdom Hearts II when Roxas has his flashback in the mansion (before he breaks the computer) its seems that the 13 members are not sitting in chronical order to which they had joined.

    For example number 1 is not sitting by number 2. They seem out of order for some reason.

    Can you tell who is sitting next to who?

    thats a good point there. but i think possibly they just made the game that way and not maybe like, xigbar sits next to luxard(thats most likely not true) because this happens…i never noticed that they dont sit in order though. thats kinda weird

    k like, i just want to say, i hope that sora riku kiari and whoever else you want to mention are not in this game, but i hope they do make another game with them in it. cause like, with donald and goofy and sora and stuff, the games are a bit kiddish, and i want this one to be about the previuos keyblade weilders(which we all know it most likely will be) and yeah. now i like sora and everything, but they need to make an older game. thats rated teen. lol but then they should make more games with sora and co. and by the way, i read on another page that the bald guys name is master rei??? i idk where thats from, but what the heck? i doubt thats true??

    KH Fan, the next game is a Sidestory that’ll only pertain to The events in the Birth By Sleep Secret Ending and the backgrounds of the characters. Since Sora is a Keyblade Weilder, I think he’ll be mentioned, but I don’t think he’ll be in the game. Kingdom Hearts 3 is gonna be so awesome. I’m shooting for a 2010 release for KH3. Since Kingdom Hearts came out in 2002, Kingdom Hearts 2 was released 4 Years Later in 2006, 4 Years seems to be the mark for Kingdom Hearts games. By the way, where did you hear this Master Rei thing?
