Scenario Mysteries Interview

TheWertle has struck again! This time with an excellent interview with Tetsuya Nomura from Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ Ultimania called “Scenario Mysteries”, in which he confirms the Enigmatic Soldier’s name as Terra!

In Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, many mysteries are answered but many new mysteries are also born.

In this version, things relating to additional scenes are included, but during the story there are some questions that pop up, so we’ll see if Nomura can point us in the right direction.

Question: In the original Kingdom Hearts, the King searches for a Keyblade in the Realm of Darkness, but when he meets Ansem the Wise, is the Realm of Light Keyblade he has the one that Sora is currently using?

Nomura: No. The King has the ability to use Keyblades from both the Realms of Darkness and of Light. This is an important point - There isn’t just one Keyblade from each world, but just as many as there are people with qualified hearts.

Question: During the meetings, the members of Organization XIII are sitting in chairs. Is the height of these chairs determined by things like their skills and abilities?

Nomura: No. The height of the chairs is not fixated - They move. That is to say that the height is up to each person. The leader, Xemnas, is always the highest, and to be at the same height as him would give that member a pretty bad feeling, so the other members wouldn’t do that. *Laughs*

Question: At the end of Sora and Riku’s stories in Re: Chain of Memories, Roxas looks back while Hayner and the rest are walking and eating ice-cream, and without seeming to care, Hayner and the others continue walking. Is this because they can’t see Roxas?

Nomura: Well it’s just because they don’t know Roxas that they don’t notice him, not because they can’t see him. At that time, right after Xemnas explains Roxas’ name, Axel says to leave things to him. Then, Roxas seems jealous of how Hayner and the others are enjoying themselves while eating ice-cream, and Axel interprets this as him wanting some ice-cream, so he is obliged to go buy him some.

Question: In the real Twilight Town, didn’t Roxas cross paths with Hayner and the others and make aquaintances with them?

Nomura: I suppose. You can think whatever you want about that.

Question: What triggered Roxas’ separation from the Organization?

Nomura: As he kept having recurring dreams of Sora, someone he didn’t know, he felt he needed to leave the Organization to find out who these people he didn’t know were. As Axel didn’t want him to go, he didn’t tell Sora about Roxas in Castle Oblivion, did he?

Question: In Riku’s ending in Re: Chain of Memories, could you tell us the meaning of the scene where the King and Riku are walking together and Riku suddenly plops down.

Nomura: That’s because Riku realized he couldn’t completely get rid of the Darkness inside of him. The King mentioned in Kingdom Hearts II that as Riku held Xehanort’s Heartless in his heart, he disappeared from the King’s sight. It’s a sort of foreshadowing. In this scene, the King’s face looks worried for a moment because he felt that Riku might eventually no longer be there. Riku headed towards DiZ in order to restore Sora’s memories to normal, but in the end, his departure from the King was so that he wouldn’t show his preparations to use the Darkness.

Question: Could you tell us at what point Riku covered his eyes?

Nomura: When he departed from the King. You don’t know after the scene, but in Riku’s ending in Re: Chain of Memories, when he comes to wherever DiZ is, he’s already covered his eyes.

Question: Please confirm some things about Castle Oblivion. In the additional event “The Truth about the Chamber of Sleep”, you can gather from Xigbar and Zexion’s conversation that Castle Oblivion existed in the Inbetween Realm before the birth of the Organization. The Organization then found it and used it for experiments about memories and to look for the Chamber of Awakening, right?

Nomura: Yes. Since their conversation was about Marluxia’s entry, they discovered the Castle before that. In fact, its use, according to Secret Ansem Report 7, was for only 13 Organization Members. Naminé awoke in Castle Oblivion, but as she and Roxas were born at the same time, half of the Organization moved to the Castle.

Question: In the additional event “To Put an End to Everything”, Sora says “It should have been easy to say thanks to Naminé, but I couldn’t say it”. At this point in time, does Sora remember the things that happened with Naminé?

Nomura: If he remembers, it’s because Naminé’s existence was made possible by Sora, and when Naminé and Roxas return to Kairi and Sora, many things were connected. Since Sora never got to say thanks to Naminé, please think of that as a hint.

Question: In the additional event “Farewell to a Friend”, there’s a scene where Axel tells Roxas “You really do have a heart, don’t you”. What is the actual case here?

Nomura: In this scene, it ends bringing up more mysteries about Roxas, so for the answer, maybe take care to follow your hunches well. It’s also related to Xehanort’s memories, but I can’t give any specifics now.

Question: We’d like to inquire about the new secret movie “Birth By Sleep”. In the new event “The Truth about the Chamber of Sleep”, Xigbar mentions a “group that wields Keyblades”. Is he talking about the 3 armored people in the movie?

Nomura: Yes, Xigbar witnessed them when he was a disciple to Ansem the Wise.

Question: The Lingering Sentiment (Enigmatic Soldier) is the same as the armored youth in the movie, but when he fights Sora he mentions “Aqua” and “Ven”. Are those the names of the other 2?

Nomura: Yes, the blue haired girl is Aqua.

Question: What is the armored youth’s name?

Nomura: His name appeared once in code in the 2006 Tokyo Game Show Promotional Video. Also, Ven is actually a nickname, but his real name is a little bit longer. Sora, Riku, and Kairi’s names can be seen as “Sky, Land, and Sea” respectively. The 3 armored people’s names take the shape of different properties of the world, “Water, Wind, and Earth”.

Statement: Ven looks an awful lot like Roxas…

Nomura: I can’t give any specifics about that. He may just resemble him, and if there is a connection, Sora may be related too. What I can say right now is that these mysteries are all connected to the story.

Question: In the beginning, the armored youth’s eyes are blue, but at the end they change to gold. Is this revealing a change in him?

Nomura: I can’t give specifics about this either… I think everyone’s imaginations are pretty capable so please try and anticipate a lot of things.

   if it comes out on psp, and the graphicks are as good as “Teken dark resorection” game, then it will be promissing, i want fast similar game play as normal Khs games, and i hope the game is big, at least 25 hours, on psp with does lil UMD disks, im very looking forwerd to see whats gona be the final product.

    Oh yeah you know how in my theory i said that Roxas might be Vens body and Soras feelings well what happened to Vens original heart and memory once you think about it Someone else could have been using it due to possession or somethin.
    just theory im not really sure.
    But yeah on khinsider the tgs list is already out and there was no kh on there,but they said the surprise game announcements arent usually put on the list so big kh announcements for tgs.
    They will probably release a trailer and the side story or somethin.

    this should come out for ps3. if it comes out for the psp, then first of all, the psp may be out dated by 2010ish, cause when did it come out like 2 years ago or somehting? and like, there probably wont be any voice acting or anything. i dont know how that works though, i dont have a psp.

    ok, this is what i would like to see in this game: that it come out on ps3 in the next at most 4 years or so, that you get to play as one (or possibly all) of the three chasers seen in the video (terra aqua ven), sora is mentioned and possibly seen depending on the time this takes place, similar gameplay to the first two kingdom hearts, and that it is a very sweet game which it probably will be. if most of this stuff takes place in the game, i will be very satisfied!

    Anyways the side story should come out soon they will probably release good info. at tgs and give a new trailer and all but maybe theyll release final mix in america and release the side story in Japan,Japan will probably get the games first and then release them later in America,like Japan gets fm and then we get fm then they get the side story then we get the side story and then they get kh3 and then we get kh3 or something like that hwo knows maybe theyll release a side story kh around the same time as fm here in America.

    KHfan:Sora and co. will be the main characters in kh3 and the new series is the side story where you play as Aqua,Ven or Terra or something,Sora wont really be much of a main character in the side story.

    Yeah, Kingdom Hearts 2 is the last Kingdom Hearts game for the PS2. But, look at the brightside, Kingdom Hearts 3 won’t be out for a while, and by then the price of the PS3 will be down. It’s already $200 now. Imagine how much it’ll be when Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out which won’t be by like 2 to 4 Years from now. Besides, Kingdom Hearts 3 is well worth the wait. I heard a rumor that it was gonna be 2 Discs long this time around, and with more worlds. I’m thinking around 15 to 20 and maybe they’ll bring back some worlds that were in Kingdom Hearts, but didn’t return in Kngdom Hearts 2

    Thanks for the info on the Organization 13 sitting arrangement though it is strange that they don’t sit in chronical order of when they joined. You would think they would unless Xemnas wanted them that way for a certian reason. Who knows maybe some of them don’t get along with their other superior. *laughs*

    Though I have seen that sometimes they sit in a different order as well in other youtube cutscenes in KH2FM when there were less of them or when 5 or six of them were gathered outside a castle a building not Hallow Bastion.

    While stopping by Gamestop a representive said that both KH2FM and KHCOM will be released in next year and on PS3. They say it is not a rumor.

    With KH3 I heard from other sites that there will be more disney worlds in the game including the computer animation ones. I keep hearing that Sora will appear in it as well.

    I did hear that Kingdom Hearts 3 will have more Disney Worlds and that it might be 2 Discs Long. Of Course, Sora will be the Main Character of KH3. He is The Keyblade Master after all.

    KHFan, the sidestory game coming out isn’t gonna be on the PS3. It’ll probably be on a Handheld System, like the GBA, or the PSP. Kingdom Hearts 3 will be on the PS3.

    in KH3, they should put some new worlds in. like toy story, that would own, and it’d be awesome if sora donald and goofy would turn into action figures for that level. lol. how sweet would that be.

    I would love to see a Toy Story World. Now that Disney owns Pixar, it’s a possibility.

    I always wondered why they never put in the Hunchback of Notre Dame. That could’ve made for an excellent world.

    It’s obvious they’ll add in Aladdin. It’s one of the most famous Disney Movies, but I hope there are new villains this time around. Getting tired of whopping Jafar. I wanna see Mozenrath, Mirage, or maybe Iyamaghoul(?). Hell, even throw in Abis Mal for comedy. And maybe this time, we’ll get to go into the Palace rather than seeing the outide of it. Same with Neverland. the city underneath Big Ben was Neverland, that was just Hook’s Ship. I wanna go there. The only villain I’d like to fight over again is Hades. Simply because James Woods is the Man.

    I’d like to see Pirates of the Carribean again. Not Dead Man’s Chest. At World’s End was so awesome. I’d love to have fight Davy Jones. Port Royal was my favorite world in Kingdom Hearts 2 because it brought realism and didn’t look anything like the other worlds, plus Pirates is an awesome movie.

    I did hear some strong comments(not here) about putting in James and the Giant Peach. I haven’t seen that movie in the longest time. Anybody wanna re-explain the plot to me?

    Also, Robin Hood. That should’ve been in the first game. I always wanted to fight alongside Robin Hood. It would make for some pretty good action. I loved that movie as a kid.

    And hopefully, we won’t get another Atlantica sing-along. I want to fight in that world like in Kingdom Hearts 1. That was my #2 world in that game. Agrabah being #1.

    I’ll think of more later, but those are my worlds. What worlds do you guys wanna see in KH3?

    I think they should have Fox and the hound as a world and aristocats and maybe some of those classic cartoon worlds other than classical mickey from when he first showed in timeless river,they should have more classical worlds from back then.
    They should have at least one final fantasy world or a new type of world owned by dsney like radiant garden.

    There will probably be different ways of fighting you know how they had the fighting changed in pride lands.
    theyll probably hold weapons differently depending on what type of creatures they become.

    Also you know dreamworks makes shrek but shrek is from the makers of monsters inc. and toy story and so forth,which are disney,making it possible for shrek to be in the game.
    I am not sure about these things but they may have the capabilities to put almost whatever they want from those businesses in the game such as Pixar,Dreamworks and disney,but i doubt there will be much of the things in dreamworks like shrek or hoodwinked or something.
    But they would be good and i think they should make a deal or something.

    disney made shrek? like is dreamworks in association with disney or soemthing? if it is they could put it in, but i dont like shrek to much so i dont know how the story would fit in with heartless. ive only seen it once

    WOW! KHFan, I nearly forgot about The Chronicles of Narnia. That would be a kickass world if I ever saw one. Especially if you have Aslan in your party and you fight a boss like The Snow Witch, or whatever she was called.

    i actually had a dream about that once! i dont know how…or why, but like i had a dream that narnia was one of the worlds. except it only lasted for like, 3 seconds so not much happened. lol

    This is probably nothing with the game but i had a dream that i was playing the game as Sora in the crossroads and i remember seeing Yen Sid somewhere i can hardly remember the rest but it was 3-D and really cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    
    And there was this other one where he was in like this city and he didnt have the light kingdom key either he had a different keyblade but it was just a dream.
    

    Yeah chronicles of Narnia would be freakin awesome and so would pirates of the caribean at worlds end you know how the third one(at worlds end)i hear was the last one but it shows Jack with a map going somewhere,so i wonder if theyll keep that world in for future games.
    Does anyone think if there was a possibility for a hoodwinked world well hoodwinkd is just the name of the movie but you get the point,do you think itd be a good idea.

    Also i cant wait to see disney castle in the game when its on the PS3 they could make it so much better disney castle would be huge and really awesome like in the pictures except it wouldnt be a theme park of course.

    I think Pirates of the Carribean was a Trilogy, so At World’s End was the last one. If I remember correctly, Jack was searching off to find The Fountain of Youth, Will and his Father had control of the Flying Dutchman, and Elizabeth was still in command of that Chinese Army. With all the great battle scenes that movie had(espcecially at the end), it would make for an wesome return.

    With PS3, they have a chance to make things look so much realistic. I’ve seen PS3 Graphics and they look out of this world. They blow 360 out of the water. Imagine the new look and the graphics. Y’know the graphics of the cutscenes before they show the credits? Imagine fighting that way. It would be so aweosme. Along with Final Fantasy XIII, that’s the only reason I’m even considering buying a PS3. Until then, I can wait. PS3 is awesome, but I don’t need it right now. I’m fine with my PS2 and Dreamcast.

    well the could make a fourth pirates movie, and they might. i dont know how some of the stuff will really fit into it too well though. and i agree that they should make disney castle bigger and more exciting.

    I agree with you on Disney Castle. It should be a bit more bigger. I liked that world because it was only world without Heartless(excluding the first visit there). But I think it was fine the way it was. I mean it was big, but I think we should see more of the Castle than just The Hall of the Cornerstone and King Mickey’s Freakishly Large Throne Room. Why does a dude that small need a huge room that and big door? I mean it was the size of a Football Field. Don’t bet on a 4th Pirates Movie, they even said in the previews for At World’s End that this was the last movie. It ended on a great note anyway.

    Maybe if they have at worlds end for the third game they will have another storyline to keep in kh like not have the movie but have the story in the fourth game where he sets off to the foubtain of youth.
    Yeah but Ace im wondering in one of your posts not too long ago you said something like the PS3 has already dropped 200 do you mean off 200 or to 200?
    I wish theyd make a fourth pirates of carribean but i guess it wont happen as a movie.
    Yeah well anyways do you guys think its interesting that Yen Sid is Disney backwards,but anyways yeahthey should have more worlds from around the times of timeless river like classical series cartoon worlds maybe.
