Scenario Mysteries Interview

TheWertle has struck again! This time with an excellent interview with Tetsuya Nomura from Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ Ultimania called “Scenario Mysteries”, in which he confirms the Enigmatic Soldier’s name as Terra!

In Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, many mysteries are answered but many new mysteries are also born.

In this version, things relating to additional scenes are included, but during the story there are some questions that pop up, so we’ll see if Nomura can point us in the right direction.

Question: In the original Kingdom Hearts, the King searches for a Keyblade in the Realm of Darkness, but when he meets Ansem the Wise, is the Realm of Light Keyblade he has the one that Sora is currently using?

Nomura: No. The King has the ability to use Keyblades from both the Realms of Darkness and of Light. This is an important point - There isn’t just one Keyblade from each world, but just as many as there are people with qualified hearts.

Question: During the meetings, the members of Organization XIII are sitting in chairs. Is the height of these chairs determined by things like their skills and abilities?

Nomura: No. The height of the chairs is not fixated - They move. That is to say that the height is up to each person. The leader, Xemnas, is always the highest, and to be at the same height as him would give that member a pretty bad feeling, so the other members wouldn’t do that. *Laughs*

Question: At the end of Sora and Riku’s stories in Re: Chain of Memories, Roxas looks back while Hayner and the rest are walking and eating ice-cream, and without seeming to care, Hayner and the others continue walking. Is this because they can’t see Roxas?

Nomura: Well it’s just because they don’t know Roxas that they don’t notice him, not because they can’t see him. At that time, right after Xemnas explains Roxas’ name, Axel says to leave things to him. Then, Roxas seems jealous of how Hayner and the others are enjoying themselves while eating ice-cream, and Axel interprets this as him wanting some ice-cream, so he is obliged to go buy him some.

Question: In the real Twilight Town, didn’t Roxas cross paths with Hayner and the others and make aquaintances with them?

Nomura: I suppose. You can think whatever you want about that.

Question: What triggered Roxas’ separation from the Organization?

Nomura: As he kept having recurring dreams of Sora, someone he didn’t know, he felt he needed to leave the Organization to find out who these people he didn’t know were. As Axel didn’t want him to go, he didn’t tell Sora about Roxas in Castle Oblivion, did he?

Question: In Riku’s ending in Re: Chain of Memories, could you tell us the meaning of the scene where the King and Riku are walking together and Riku suddenly plops down.

Nomura: That’s because Riku realized he couldn’t completely get rid of the Darkness inside of him. The King mentioned in Kingdom Hearts II that as Riku held Xehanort’s Heartless in his heart, he disappeared from the King’s sight. It’s a sort of foreshadowing. In this scene, the King’s face looks worried for a moment because he felt that Riku might eventually no longer be there. Riku headed towards DiZ in order to restore Sora’s memories to normal, but in the end, his departure from the King was so that he wouldn’t show his preparations to use the Darkness.

Question: Could you tell us at what point Riku covered his eyes?

Nomura: When he departed from the King. You don’t know after the scene, but in Riku’s ending in Re: Chain of Memories, when he comes to wherever DiZ is, he’s already covered his eyes.

Question: Please confirm some things about Castle Oblivion. In the additional event “The Truth about the Chamber of Sleep”, you can gather from Xigbar and Zexion’s conversation that Castle Oblivion existed in the Inbetween Realm before the birth of the Organization. The Organization then found it and used it for experiments about memories and to look for the Chamber of Awakening, right?

Nomura: Yes. Since their conversation was about Marluxia’s entry, they discovered the Castle before that. In fact, its use, according to Secret Ansem Report 7, was for only 13 Organization Members. Naminé awoke in Castle Oblivion, but as she and Roxas were born at the same time, half of the Organization moved to the Castle.

Question: In the additional event “To Put an End to Everything”, Sora says “It should have been easy to say thanks to Naminé, but I couldn’t say it”. At this point in time, does Sora remember the things that happened with Naminé?

Nomura: If he remembers, it’s because Naminé’s existence was made possible by Sora, and when Naminé and Roxas return to Kairi and Sora, many things were connected. Since Sora never got to say thanks to Naminé, please think of that as a hint.

Question: In the additional event “Farewell to a Friend”, there’s a scene where Axel tells Roxas “You really do have a heart, don’t you”. What is the actual case here?

Nomura: In this scene, it ends bringing up more mysteries about Roxas, so for the answer, maybe take care to follow your hunches well. It’s also related to Xehanort’s memories, but I can’t give any specifics now.

Question: We’d like to inquire about the new secret movie “Birth By Sleep”. In the new event “The Truth about the Chamber of Sleep”, Xigbar mentions a “group that wields Keyblades”. Is he talking about the 3 armored people in the movie?

Nomura: Yes, Xigbar witnessed them when he was a disciple to Ansem the Wise.

Question: The Lingering Sentiment (Enigmatic Soldier) is the same as the armored youth in the movie, but when he fights Sora he mentions “Aqua” and “Ven”. Are those the names of the other 2?

Nomura: Yes, the blue haired girl is Aqua.

Question: What is the armored youth’s name?

Nomura: His name appeared once in code in the 2006 Tokyo Game Show Promotional Video. Also, Ven is actually a nickname, but his real name is a little bit longer. Sora, Riku, and Kairi’s names can be seen as “Sky, Land, and Sea” respectively. The 3 armored people’s names take the shape of different properties of the world, “Water, Wind, and Earth”.

Statement: Ven looks an awful lot like Roxas…

Nomura: I can’t give any specifics about that. He may just resemble him, and if there is a connection, Sora may be related too. What I can say right now is that these mysteries are all connected to the story.

Question: In the beginning, the armored youth’s eyes are blue, but at the end they change to gold. Is this revealing a change in him?

Nomura: I can’t give specifics about this either… I think everyone’s imaginations are pretty capable so please try and anticipate a lot of things.

   ok i just kinda wanna mention this. on the official KH site, it says that yuffie is 16…uhhh is that possible?? she looks kinda older then that, and why the heck would she be hanging around with people that are in their mid to late twenties?? idk. i just kinda found that odd.

   Hey on Wikipedia it says it is currently known that Master Xehanort and his apprentice disappeared and Terra,Aqua and Ven are sent on a quest to find them,So they just disappeared.
   How do you think they could have just disappeared?
   So anyways,Who plays Terras Voice in the game i know Ven has the same person as Roxas but thats all i know?
   Each princess of heart has been described on wikipedia that their worlds were destroyed by the heartless,except for belle,princess Jasmine and Alice in Wonderland.
   I think that Xehanort had his memories messed with too in someway like Sora had his messed with.
   Oh,I got a better idea about Ansem,Ansem the Wise(Diz) thing,Okay Xehanort was allowed to have experiments done on him something went terribly wrong and the darkness consumed him he took the name Ansem for some reason and then he took Rikus form right as Ansem the Wise had been sent into the realm of nothingness he somehow was left with the form of Ansem the heartless,giving the ability to use the corridors of darkness he met up with Riku and King Mickey already.
   The experiments on Xehanort were to learn of the darkness since they wanted to bolster defenses on the world.

   I wouldn’t take Wikipedia seriously if I were you, especially when it refers to Kingdom Hearts. People can make up whatever stories they want. I can go there right now and edit the page and say Sora and Riku are brothers and Ven is Terra and Aqua’s kid. Just be careful with that site.

   I don’t agree with the whole idea of Aqua being the 14th member of the Organization. I think that it would be to convenient to have her be the 14th member. Think about it, Nomura only told that the 14th member was female and not Namine. Now they just eliminated the only main female character it could so then we are drawn to the only other female character as a guess. Also why are they only now, after ten years, inducting Aqua into the Organization? I think the whole friend thing in KH2 FM video was to show the Xehanort had a connection to the knights.

   Also to answer the question about Soul Eater. Soul Eater was given to Riku by Maleficent. Somewhere after KH: CoM it became Way to the Dawn, however according to Nomura Riku still calls it Soul Eater.

   Now it has been mentioned about the knights pulling out the kayblades of Sora, Riku, and King Mickey. Nomura has stated this on the subject:

   The king, Sora and Riku’s keyblades were there, too.

   It’s to show that those three armoured people aren’t them but that doesn’t mean they don’t have connections. The words “Keyblade War” that showed up in the middle were to implicate that there were fights between Keyblades. Most of the puzzles in the first KH have been solved in KHII but there are many things about the Keyblade that haven’t been revealed yet. A line from the previous game’s Ansem Report #8 appeared in the movie but that is to say “It means this but it’s not explained yet.”

   shadow for the record they havent confirmed any of the english voice actors. well, i imagine jesse mcartney will do ven’s voice(i dont think it will fit, but thats just me). i wonder if they’ll do the all celebrity voice overs again. they should probably only do that for the main games. it’ll probably be harder to try and find a celeb to match every characters voice.

   Well Tazimus,in the rumours section i thought you disagreed with my idea of Aqua being to simple as the fourteenth member,or was it somethingelse i’m too lazy to go look back.

   KHfan:I was talking about the confirmed voice actors of KHII not khIII though as Ace said i wouldn’t trust wikipedia that much,it’s what said he is also played by mccartney,which is what you would suppose.

   Well anyways i’ve got more of my ideas on the game in rumours section under kingdom hearts 3 i’ve been posting there more often.

   i definatly dont trust wikipedia, haha they have alot of crap on there. the maker of the game did say that the same person is suppossed to play ven, as he said “he wants the player to see roxas and ven as basically the same person”….hmmm i wonder what he meant by that…. this is going to bug me untill the game comes out and i beat it.

    That would be quite odd if it’s like Ven is Sora and like theres like a whole other universe like a parallell universe maybe it’s like another world like another side and there’s different forms or something.
    But i really don’t know.
    I think Roxas is in fact a form of Sora and Ven somehow like the same person and yet Ven hasn’t been seen in the game before,maybe since Sora is in a virtual world the whole time maybe they really are separate.TOO CONFUSING!!!!!! :O
    I’m sick of trying to figure any of this out of course,so i’m just going to talk about the games and wait until they come out.

    I truly agree that Riku did not created the Soul Eater & Way To Dawn, Keybladeweilders can weild any keyblade dependeng on as how many qualified hearts there are for example that Roxas can weild the Oblivion and the Oathkeeper and at the scene where Terra, Aqua and Ven got the keyblades of Sora Riku and the King, It shows that there are many keyblades.

    Now lets go back to Roxas And Terra.. About Ven: I predict that Roxas was created through Ven’s form because I believe that nobodies were reincarnations of the dead but Roxas got the memories of Sora because maybe Roxas was created when Sora is asleep that is why Roxas got Sora’s memories same as Terra’s explanation maybe Xemnas was created through his form but he is aquiring Xehanort’s memories..

    To Aqua I am confident that she is the 14th member of the org. 13..

    Sora+x=Roxas: There is one true flaw with your theory Roxas didn’t remember Sora. He never remembered Sora except in confused dreams which he couldn’t make out. Also it is clearly stated in Kingdom Hearts 2 that Roxas was created when Sora went from Heartless to Human. Also you’re discounting the Xemnas boss fight Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix in which Xemnas states that Sora looks just him referring to Roxas. Sora went to sleep at the end of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Your theory is still sound about Roxas being reincarnation of the dead. However this is also based on the fact that Ven and Terra are in fact dead. They may not be dead.

    I don’t think that Aqua or any of them died exactly they did seem quite young and it took one year for their story to end and then Maleficent came along with the heartless.
    But then Xehanort with no memory looking almost exactly like Terra,i guess he was desperate to get his hair back,just kidding but really idon’t know if theres a better explanation.
    Anyways since Riku has the power of darkness and was once possessed by Ansem i wonder if that means they can create a form of Riku like a nobody or like the D.S. perhaps i dunnoe.
    I just want these games to release so i can play them,I wonder when they will release in 2008.

    The difference is that Sora didn’t stay as long as a heartless. So that would be the reason why he remembers things through Sora. There was an interview on that the creator discussed somewhere on this website.

    Because Sora wasn’t a Heartless for very long, Roxas had no memories. He didn’t even know who Sora was. Didn’t you notice in KH2 that everytime Roxas had a dream about Sora, Namine was piecing Sora’s Memories back together? Because of that, Roxas kept on having these re-occuring dreams about Sora.

    Okay now Sora wasn’t a heartless very long but what does that have to do with the memories of Roxas,he did remember the name Sora right?
    Also for example some of the org. heartless could still be out there of course and they remembered just fine.

    ok the thing is, i think its possible that aqua and ven could have died, its just that like, yes they are very young and i dont think disney would kill off any characters like that. i know square enix would, haha, but i cant see disney doing that. yes i know that some few characters have died in the past KH games, but they werent like, kids and main characters in the game. they were also people that were like, hey im gonna take over the worlds. except for axel, but for some reason i really dont think he died.

    Oh I see…. No that completely confused with that. I knew Roxas was having those dreams, but in some way he was remembering them even though he didn’t understand what it was all about.

    Heartless organization members? Well the creator did say they do exist somewhere, but the thing with the 13 heartless mushrooms are confusing.

    Of course Disney killed off characters, (in certain movies they killed off central ones), they are not like a company that tries to cover up death.

    Not all them tried to take over the worlds. Sure most of villains were power hungry, but Demyx didn’t have interest in this much as Axel. Besides Roxas they may be the lightest of the organization.

    i was speaking in a general sense. i actually forgot about demyx cause he annoyed me, and i know disney has killed some characters off. but the movies that they are putting in the games dont usually. disney is a company for kids. im just saying that..ugh nevermind!!! forget i said anything about that!!!

    Uh alot of adults like disney as well. It is favored by any age. I know some disney fantantics who have their house covered with disney that are adults that do not have families.

    The only thing that annoyed me with Demyx is the second time you fight him with the second timer. He can be a dangerous character and does more than just create clones and spray water and leap across the screen. He actually whacks Sora with the Sitar and uses it as an sword when you try to attack him repeatedly. So whoever says that Demyx is a wimp think again.. If you have Axel teamed up with him they work extremely well together, it is more gruesome as they both take on Sora and it impossible to beat them both. Without special forms it more of a challenge.

    like all nobodis there orignal person has been destoryed and a heartless and a nobody remain, but sora can back, watch some vids of kingdom hearts, it looks like roxas has a heart and that alex gained fealsing by been close to one, roxas must have a heart because sora is the only one who has regained his orignal form from been a heartless

    But i predict that Ven did die and so does Aqua coz’ there is a part in a BBS scan Terra is saying ” What did you do w/ his/her heart? ” and it is directed to the bald man..
    There is also a fact that Roxas and Axel do have hearts coz’ in a scan Axel indicated that he feels something.

    Sora+x=Roxas & bluekingdom: Axel and Roxas don’t have hearts. Now Roxas was created under unusual circumstance. Roxas was created from the remains of Sora’s heartless not his body and soul, Namine was created from that. Since a heartless is created from a heart then one could say that Roxas was in fact created from Sora’s heart. This is why Roxas could wield Keyblades. Axel and Roxas were just Nobodies.

    ahh!! organization fan, im not putting a down on disney or anything! i like disney too! well, im not an adult, but im just saying that most of their stuff is aimed at younger kids!

    demyx is VERY hard to beat at hollow bastion. thats why he gets on my nerves. haha. i had to fight him like 47854357348578934895 times before i could beat him.

    but, im selling mine for $160 with five games and in near perfect condition…
    its a 1001K with no scratches or extirior damage and it comes with everything that a new psp included.
    EXTRAS: five games and a carring case with two 32 MB Memory sticks and five final fantasty and kingdom hearts III photos on one of the cards.

    Issues:
    the WIFI card was damaged in the factory and does not work…NOTE: this does NOT affect the gameply, or any of the normal psp features not including online features.

    ok i was thinkin one day, i would extremely love for them to keep the same voice cast for KH3, but if they absolutely simply had to get a new voice cast, who do u think would fit with the roles well? personaly, i think Mitchell Musso would fit as sora. i dont know, anyone else have any thoughts on people for the roles? since they have the “all celeb cast”

    They should keep the same voice actors because it wouldn’t sound right for the characters unless the character was older.

    Matt:kh3 will probably come out in 2009 but summer 08 there will be a side story coming out(only in Japan,other due dates are yet to be confirmed) called kingdom hearts 358/2 days for nintendo DS and later there will be kh birth by sleep for psp…

    okay, just to get this straight, kingdom hearts 3 is not coming out for ps2. it hasnt even been anounced yet, and the guy who created the game said that the last completely major game for ps2 would have been final mix, but that only came out in japan. kingdom hearts 3 is going to come out for ps3. by then, the prices will have gone down some too. can you imagine how sweet the graffics are gonna be?…

    sorry but it isnt coming out for ps2, and 258/2 DAYS IS COMING OUT THIS SUMMER?????? THAT MEANS BIRTH BY SLEEP IS GONNA COME OUT THIS YEAR MOST LIKELY TOO THEN!! i wish i didnt have to buy a psp for it though tooo many systems to buy for kingdom hearts!!!
