Scenario Mysteries Interview

TheWertle has struck again! This time with an excellent interview with Tetsuya Nomura from Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ Ultimania called “Scenario Mysteries”, in which he confirms the Enigmatic Soldier’s name as Terra!

In Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, many mysteries are answered but many new mysteries are also born.

In this version, things relating to additional scenes are included, but during the story there are some questions that pop up, so we’ll see if Nomura can point us in the right direction.

Question: In the original Kingdom Hearts, the King searches for a Keyblade in the Realm of Darkness, but when he meets Ansem the Wise, is the Realm of Light Keyblade he has the one that Sora is currently using?

Nomura: No. The King has the ability to use Keyblades from both the Realms of Darkness and of Light. This is an important point - There isn’t just one Keyblade from each world, but just as many as there are people with qualified hearts.

Question: During the meetings, the members of Organization XIII are sitting in chairs. Is the height of these chairs determined by things like their skills and abilities?

Nomura: No. The height of the chairs is not fixated - They move. That is to say that the height is up to each person. The leader, Xemnas, is always the highest, and to be at the same height as him would give that member a pretty bad feeling, so the other members wouldn’t do that. *Laughs*

Question: At the end of Sora and Riku’s stories in Re: Chain of Memories, Roxas looks back while Hayner and the rest are walking and eating ice-cream, and without seeming to care, Hayner and the others continue walking. Is this because they can’t see Roxas?

Nomura: Well it’s just because they don’t know Roxas that they don’t notice him, not because they can’t see him. At that time, right after Xemnas explains Roxas’ name, Axel says to leave things to him. Then, Roxas seems jealous of how Hayner and the others are enjoying themselves while eating ice-cream, and Axel interprets this as him wanting some ice-cream, so he is obliged to go buy him some.

Question: In the real Twilight Town, didn’t Roxas cross paths with Hayner and the others and make aquaintances with them?

Nomura: I suppose. You can think whatever you want about that.

Question: What triggered Roxas’ separation from the Organization?

Nomura: As he kept having recurring dreams of Sora, someone he didn’t know, he felt he needed to leave the Organization to find out who these people he didn’t know were. As Axel didn’t want him to go, he didn’t tell Sora about Roxas in Castle Oblivion, did he?

Question: In Riku’s ending in Re: Chain of Memories, could you tell us the meaning of the scene where the King and Riku are walking together and Riku suddenly plops down.

Nomura: That’s because Riku realized he couldn’t completely get rid of the Darkness inside of him. The King mentioned in Kingdom Hearts II that as Riku held Xehanort’s Heartless in his heart, he disappeared from the King’s sight. It’s a sort of foreshadowing. In this scene, the King’s face looks worried for a moment because he felt that Riku might eventually no longer be there. Riku headed towards DiZ in order to restore Sora’s memories to normal, but in the end, his departure from the King was so that he wouldn’t show his preparations to use the Darkness.

Question: Could you tell us at what point Riku covered his eyes?

Nomura: When he departed from the King. You don’t know after the scene, but in Riku’s ending in Re: Chain of Memories, when he comes to wherever DiZ is, he’s already covered his eyes.

Question: Please confirm some things about Castle Oblivion. In the additional event “The Truth about the Chamber of Sleep”, you can gather from Xigbar and Zexion’s conversation that Castle Oblivion existed in the Inbetween Realm before the birth of the Organization. The Organization then found it and used it for experiments about memories and to look for the Chamber of Awakening, right?

Nomura: Yes. Since their conversation was about Marluxia’s entry, they discovered the Castle before that. In fact, its use, according to Secret Ansem Report 7, was for only 13 Organization Members. Naminé awoke in Castle Oblivion, but as she and Roxas were born at the same time, half of the Organization moved to the Castle.

Question: In the additional event “To Put an End to Everything”, Sora says “It should have been easy to say thanks to Naminé, but I couldn’t say it”. At this point in time, does Sora remember the things that happened with Naminé?

Nomura: If he remembers, it’s because Naminé’s existence was made possible by Sora, and when Naminé and Roxas return to Kairi and Sora, many things were connected. Since Sora never got to say thanks to Naminé, please think of that as a hint.

Question: In the additional event “Farewell to a Friend”, there’s a scene where Axel tells Roxas “You really do have a heart, don’t you”. What is the actual case here?

Nomura: In this scene, it ends bringing up more mysteries about Roxas, so for the answer, maybe take care to follow your hunches well. It’s also related to Xehanort’s memories, but I can’t give any specifics now.

Question: We’d like to inquire about the new secret movie “Birth By Sleep”. In the new event “The Truth about the Chamber of Sleep”, Xigbar mentions a “group that wields Keyblades”. Is he talking about the 3 armored people in the movie?

Nomura: Yes, Xigbar witnessed them when he was a disciple to Ansem the Wise.

Question: The Lingering Sentiment (Enigmatic Soldier) is the same as the armored youth in the movie, but when he fights Sora he mentions “Aqua” and “Ven”. Are those the names of the other 2?

Nomura: Yes, the blue haired girl is Aqua.

Question: What is the armored youth’s name?

Nomura: His name appeared once in code in the 2006 Tokyo Game Show Promotional Video. Also, Ven is actually a nickname, but his real name is a little bit longer. Sora, Riku, and Kairi’s names can be seen as “Sky, Land, and Sea” respectively. The 3 armored people’s names take the shape of different properties of the world, “Water, Wind, and Earth”.

Statement: Ven looks an awful lot like Roxas…

Nomura: I can’t give any specifics about that. He may just resemble him, and if there is a connection, Sora may be related too. What I can say right now is that these mysteries are all connected to the story.

Question: In the beginning, the armored youth’s eyes are blue, but at the end they change to gold. Is this revealing a change in him?

Nomura: I can’t give specifics about this either… I think everyone’s imaginations are pretty capable so please try and anticipate a lot of things.

   Hey Ven,Aqua and Terra have the same meanings to their names and in the reports Ansem is wondering about the body,soul,and the heart,so seeing as Roxas and Namine woud have to be Sora an Kairis body well the nobody is the body and soul so in order to have a nobody their soul would have to be seperated and that would mean Sora and Kairi would have to be dead but Sora is only the second to have a nobody and stay alive.

   Sora is too young to wield a keyblade too so maybe whn Roxas was made it was Vens body,i remember seeing a scanned picture of Terra carrying Ven who was unconscious,and as far as that goes Ven was dead but was reborn.
   Namine must be a nobody form of Aqua and Kairi and Sora combined from how they were created.
   Any thoughts about it?

   well one things for sure, they wont run out of disney worlds for any of the games to come for quite awhile! they may possibly by some chance have the voice actors too. thatd be cool.

   Yeah well it seems that kh2 has been out for quite awhile and they probably wont make the characters seem 20 i actually think it will be around 17 and they are making the side stories you know.
   So there will be lots of information.
   I think new worlds are in the side stories too.

   Yeah, by them time KH3 gets started, all the voice actors will be like 20 Years Old, but it’ll be weird without having the original voice actors for the Kingdom Hearts Games.

   By the way, 2 New Worlds just came to me for KH3. Pocohontas and The Lost City of Atlantis. Man, those would make for awesome Kingdom Hearts Worlds.

   combined?? wow, that would be reeally weird. haha, those two levels would be extremly funny together. you know, im kinda mad becasue if they take time off the origanel KH story and stuff for a couple years, theyre gonna have to get a new cast probably. i mean, they could keep the same ppl, but they might sound wahahaaayy to old to be kids. and i dont want them to make sora and co like 20. at most they should be like 17. hah

   I didnt mean to say that last comment like i knew what the connection is,but as far as this i dont want to do much research on it anymore,what i think the connection is,is that since Aqua has connections to Kairi and Namine also has connections to both Aqua and Namine there must be a connection with the fourteenth org. member.
   I really wonder hwo it is and i wonder who the D.S. is i would laugh my head off if it was a girl too,but probably not.
   Did they say that there was a world olympus coliseum and snow white as a combined world or what?
   Maybe it has to do with the seven princesses or somethin i dunnoe.

   It seems that the fourteenth member is unknown,it isnt Namine but there is great connections between Aqua and Namine.

   You don’t have to be a member to view the info. Just log on to KH-Vids.net and scroll down. Everything should be there.

   For those Top 5 Videos, you gotta be a member for that. But it’s stiff competition. I only have WMM, everyone else uses Vegas on that site. I downloaded a trial, but I ahd no clue how to use it and it was slowing doen my computer so I got rid of it.

    Nomura just confirmed that Namine isn’t the 14th Member. No offense to guys who run this site, but head over to KH-Vids.net. They have A LOT of new photos that include Gameplay with Terra which looks cool, a glimpse at the Sleeping Beauty World, Roxas, Axel, Saix, and Xigbar fighting in Wonderland(?), and fighting Darkside(yea, he’s back) in Twilight Town of all places, and we get a look at the 14th member. From her looks, she looks a bit different than Aqua.

    Just wanted to point out that in one of The Birth By Sleep scans, Vena was on this awesome outfit, and I couldn’t help but notice that he sported the same checkerboarded wristband that Roxas had on in Kingdom Hearts. I dying to hear the explanation as to why Ven look just like Roxas. I still think they’re the same person.

    Also, I saw King Mickey defending somebody. I couldn’t tell if it was Aqua, Terra, or Ven. I think he’s probably defending whoever it is(Terra?) from the Old Man(Master Xehanort).

    I’m definitely getting Birth By Sleep. Just getting to use Terra is awesome in its own right.

    heh, my firend and i always make fun of that. if your a guy and your names terra, no offense. and i had no idea that the psp had such good graffix!!!! they look like the freakin ps2!!! ok i dont know about that. theyre really good though. do they feature voice acting on the psp?

    Terra is a girl’s name, but it’s common for some guys to have girl’s names and vice versa.

    Ace,I agree but i dont think kh2 fm is that important its just a side story.
    I was just wondering cause if they make it for America it would give us possibly a better guess of when those three games come to America,from between the point from when kh2fm to those three games were released it would take about the same amount of time as it did in Japan wouldnt it?
    Anyways if kh2fm wasnt coming to America then those three games might be but you know how they said that we would be getting the two games but not coded well youd think theyd have one or two of those games ready for release in America.
    Im sure,im just really looking foward to those games and am excited!

    i really dont think its fair that KH2 FM probably wont be released here. i mean, they would make alot more money, people and other countries want it!!!!!!, and there are also a few other games thta werent released anywhere but japan. that sucks….. and now i want a psp. lol. ill get one when they put out a release date for birth by sleep. by then it will have gone down. alot.

    Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix has been in Japan ever since it was released Last December(?) I don’t think it’ll ever come here. Even if it does, the new games will be out by then. I think Final Mix is only exclusive to Japan. After all, Kingdom Hearts Final Mix was never released in the US.

    Oh yeah,if there were more newer handheld systems at the time they probably wouldnt have put coded on cell phones,but i dunnoe what i mean is,i wonder if xbox had a handheld console would they put a kh game on it.
    But these three games are really good.

    The mobile phone game in Japan is going to be better than we think.
    The thing is the cell phone games are so freakin popular in Japan and not in America it seems.

    sorry for the third comment in a row, but the only reason i think coded wont be that great is because the graffics may suck. i mean, KH1 through mickeys eyes would be aweosme, but why dont they make it for an actual system. the first mobile KH game i heard wasnt spectacular. rhe v cast thing……it looked like runescape….:]

    i thought that terra had brown hair, cause it really looks like he does in the vid, but i guess not because now its black…. oh well. if i get any of these games, it’ll be birth by sleep. cause this might sound a little mean but honestly, i dont care about what roxas did in the organization, and coded is probably gonna be like, not that great i have a feeling. but i could be wrong.

    wheres the picture of the charecters from birth by sleep in gameplay? i saw terra, but not the other two.

    I dont have any of those either but im going to try and get at least one of them soon.
    But didnt tey say in the descriptions there was a black haired character,i thought i saw a picture of Terra and his hair sort of looked black but i dunnoe.
    Im just going to wait until each of these games are released in America,but hwo knows when those games will be released here.

    Click my name. These new scans of the games look awesome. Terra and the Old Man are either talking, or getting ready to fight. Terra looks cooler without his helmet on. It looks as if Terra and The Old Man met in The Gathering Place once before. The name “Master Xehanort” was thrown around, but it didn’t say it was directed at The Old Man. Terra said, “what have you done to his/her heart?” So, I could be right. The Old Man messed with Xehanort’s Heart to lead him to the Dark Side, and met The Old Man to confront him. This game is getting more and more interesting. The thing that would top it off would be to fight using Terra’s Moves from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix. That would make my day. Since their abilities, you’d have to work to get them, but I don’t mind. Seeing a move and doing that same move are two completely different things. Man, I might actually get a PSP for this game. That and Power Stone.

    Who do you all think this Female 14th Organization Member is? I’ve heard some pretty logical theories about it being Aqua. I’ll commet on who I think it is tomorrow. As for now, I’m tired.
