SEP2007 Trailer Description Translation *Updated*
A translation of an anonymous description of the surprise “New Project” trailer seen at the Square-Enix Party 2007 has come up. The Italicised parts are words that came up on screen in Japanese.
Update: Some of you may know of the “Soulless” theory. This theory is basically that when a Nobody is destroyed, its soul is released to form a new being, which had been known as a Soulless. The reason behind the name was that Heartless have hearts and Nobodies have bodies. The reason this is relevant is because someone in a 2ch Japanese blog has apparently seen the word “Dis-Soul” nearer the end of the “New Project” trailer, which may or may not be a new type of creature, previously thought to be a Soulless. This is NOT confirmation in any way though.
(or “I have to go heal their wounds.”)
“If you get lost in the darkness, join your hands together like before.”
“I am counting the days since my birth.”
“Has the number of days been recorded?”
“I don’t want to forget what has happened since my birth.”
“With whose heart does a new story lie?”
(or “With whose heart does the next story lie?”)
These lines come up with a Sora, Terra, and Roxas collage in the background.
Then a short movie is shown using scenes from the secret movie (“Birth By Sleep”) with a rearranged version of “The Other Promise” playing in the background. During this (presumably), a word comes up:
“Dis-Soul”
If you missed them, the previous descriptions of this trailer were:
GameWatch: “The Movie had a scene of facing an eruption of smoke that becomes the heart shape logo that symbolizes the series. A short notification that the Movie was ending was with a scene of Sora and his two companions seen walking. The information “A new project was to be announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2007” was announced at the end of the Movie.”
Famitsu: “In addition, the new information on the surprise continues. The image of a new project of “Kingdom Hearts” was thrown onto the screen. The scene where the armored soldier who fights in the arena of warfare in 3-D graphics, which felt beautiful. Then the words appeared in English, “New information was scheduled to be announced in Tokyo Game Show 2007” was displayed at the end, although, it was a short image.”

It isn’t confirmed that the “New Project” will be a prequel at all. It’s confirmed that it’ll be a side-story, which will most likely mean finding out what happened to Mickey while on the Dark side of the door, or what happened to Roxas while in Organization XIII. Something like that.
I personally believe that everything that we saw in the Birth By Sleep video happened during Sora’s quest in the first Kingdom Hearts, and it’s to do with Mickey’s Story. King Mickey is seen with Star-Seeker which would suggest to me that he’s partway through his own journey on the Dark side of the door.
Of course, this wouldn’t account for the fact that the Old Man turned Kingdom Hearts blue, but we never actually saw “Kingdom Hearts” in its form in the first game.
Nomura said cryptically that the scenes could be seen as in the past and also in the future. I originally thought this meant that “Kingdom Hearts III” would be set in the future with these scenes as flashbacks to the past. Now he’s said that the “New Project” will be a side-story, so if those scenes are related specifically to the “New Project”, I think my theory could work.
“Dis-Soul” on the other hand, if it follows the “Soulless” theory, would probably have to apply to a later game/project after the next one, especially as Ansem would have mentioned something about them in his reports if Mickey had had to fight them.

Man, a dis-soul? That sounds pretty cool. My friends and I made up something called a Half-Heart. They were once Nobodies, but when Vexen was experimenting with the hearts of the Heartless, he tore th heart out, but only got half of the heart. He put the half-heart into the nobody.
These “half-hearts” were ment to be an ultimate weapon used by Orgy XIII to destroy Sora, but the Half Hearts had a mind of their own, now that they had a heart and could feel half of emotions.
They ran away, and became a threat. No known as “The failed experiments” by The Organization.
But those are fan characters
Let’s talk about the real characters.
Dis-souls might just be what the Chasers and/or the Bald man are. It would be interesting.
Ventus might be the dis-soul of Roxas, because Sora “killed” Roxas in The World That Never Was, which might have caused his Nobody’s soul to do that freaky transformation, making him a Dis-soul and therefore, making Ventus.
But then again, I need to slap myself now because it’s confirmed by Nomura that “KH 3” will be a prequel, so I just wrote that theory for nothing.

Getting a ticket in advance is 1,000 Yen while getting one on the day is 1,200 Yen. That’s around £4 or $8 and £5 or $10 respectively.
